Thanks. Most interesting. I hadn't looked into him yet. Everything fits together.

Lots of eye-opening info at that link, folks.

Here's the money quote:

The presidential notice alters a key provision of the 1999 Defense Authorization Act that required that the president notify Congress whether a transfer of missile and space technology to China would harm the U.S. space-launch industry or help China's missile programs.

The law was passed after a late-1990s scandal involving the U.S. companies Space Systems/Loral and Hughes Electronics Corp.

Obama has conveniently sidestepped THE LAW.

A Ron Brown redo?

Wouldn’t this kind of decision belong in the Defense Department?

Bush moved it back?

Clinton did this also, as I recall.

Chinese missiles were crashing shortly after launch. Clinton's biggest campaign contributor was the President of Loral corporation (Bernie Schwartz?). Clinton moved decisions on the sale of dual use technology from the Department of Defense, who tend to say “no,” to the Department of Commerce, who tend to say “yes.” They gave Loral the O.K. to contract with the Chinese. They were able to fix the launch problems. The Chinese were soon able to put up satellites, or ICBMs.

Amazingly enough this, and more, were detailed in a bi-partisan Congressional report - the Cox Report. The report never made a splash, in part because Clinton commenced the war in Yugoslavia at the same time Chris Cox intended to present his findings to the press. I'm sure our one-party press didn't want to report anyway. Some considered this a “Wag the Dog” situation, similar to the movie of the same name starring Robert DeNiro and Dustin Hoffman.

Some of you may remember that Clinton did this in his first term and the Loral corporation ended up selling classified rocket designs to China. Hughes corp was caught up in it too. It was a boondoggle from the beginning. I think this is treasonous.

It’s probably already been given to the Chinese. This is just smoke and mirrors.

National security standpoint....this administration is a disaster.

Along with the news of allowing Russians to tour all or our nuke sites and attempt to verify the numbers.

Along with fiscal suicide and social suicide through amnesty...America is facing unprecedented challenges in the near future.

should be approved for China to Commerce Secretary Gary Locke.

Indeed, given the fact that Locke is a chinaman.

At least Bill Clinton got a pot of campaign donations for doing this for China. What is Obama getting?

“Bush moved it back?”

By process of elimination, it must be. That would make a plenty good story.

Clintoon did the same thing back around 1996, just after his senseless reelection! The Chinese couldn’t get their Rockets to go any higher than their Fireworks until then! Then Clintoon’s Friend at LORAL gave away the Barn and it’s doors to the Chinese and now their Rockets are probably better than Ours!....:-( Betting that China gave at least a Billion to Obozo’s Campaign Fund and its PAYBACK Time!
