Levi Johnston’s shameless exploitation by the liberal media is more than just a convenient cudgel for bashing Sarah Palin. It’s a modern minstrel show, with “Middle American” substituted for “African-American” as Levi capers for his condescending media “friends” wearing figurative blackface. And just as the minstrel shows of the past were tools to reinforce prejudice, the Levi Johnston show is meant to reinforce the prejudices and smug sense of superiority of its elitist liberal audience.

It’s too bad. This young man, had he had a core of decency, could have had a good life with a pretty and loving wife and a great, healthy son. The inlaws are pretty special too.
But he preferred jumping into a sewer, and he has lost all of that good life. It really is sad.
I expect to hear that he’s been found dead in some flop house from an overdose in the not too distant future.

Well Levi isn’t gay. He’s a hetero stud even though he is all full of himself. Levi’s advertisements seem to be full of silence when it comes to that aspect of “jeans sexiness” and it would be odd if Levi were the first exception. And other brands like Lee and Wrangler insist on a cowboy western wholesome image (no Brokeback stuff).
Even worse he is going to show the world his willy by posing for Playgirl magazine.
Yuk.
That one will be pictorially "gay" for money. Posing for Playgirl for all the gay guys to see? He's a whore, plain and simple.

The intent seems simply to be scummy; he doesn’t care what’s on his viewers’ minds as long as he gets the notoriety (and bucks).

So he is not being exploited by the media and he was not exploited by the McCain campaign that asked Levi to hit the campaign trail with Sarah.
I simply do not believe the Marxist view that adults in conducting their work are being exploited. And Levi, while he may be a low life, is an adult and is responsible for his own actions.
I don't think it's "Marxist" to make a distinction between honest and dishonest labor, between free and corrupt enterprise.

The parallelism is, to put it mildly, faulty. The Palin family took him in as one of their own in 100% good faith, and treated him exactly as such, a member of the family. Kathy Griffin and the other idiots are employing him in bad faith, with the primary intention not of making money but of bullying and embarrasing a woman. That's not capitalism, that's stalking.
Around a year ago when so many Freepers were fawning over Mr. Levi, I sensed that Levi was nothing but a punk, and I was right.
However, in being a worthless punk, he maintains the ability to control his life and he is in no way being exploited.
He is instead, selling out his child.
