Three Government Reports Point To Fiscal Doomsday

by Martin D. Weiss, Ph.D.
10-05-09

When our leaders have no awareness of the disastrous consequences of their actions, they can claim ignorance and take no action.

Or when our leaders have no hard evidence as to what might happen in the future, they can at least claim uncertainty.

But when they have full knowledge of an impending disaster … they have proof of its inevitability in ANY scenario … and they so declare in their official reports … but STILL don’t lift a finger to change course … then they have only one remaining claim:

INSANITY!

And, unfortunately, that’s precisely the situation we’re in today: Three recently released government reports now point to fiscal doomsday for America; and one of the reports, issued by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), says so explicitly:

[snip]

TOPICS: News/Current Events

Not INSANITY.

CALCULATED.

We’re being destroyed, according to plan.

When will people actually and finally state the obvious?

Pres. Obama’s ONLY qualification to be president was that he was half black. That’s it, in total.

He is corrupt, but that was discounted because he was black.
He has no experience, but so what? He’s black.
He has no leadership skills? But, he’s part black.
And the NAACP said he wasn’t ‘black enough’; but Michele is.

So, we have an incompetent leader; but we have shown the world we are not a country of bigots; because our inept leader is black.

Now, our incompetent leader is trashing the Constitution, leading us into fiscal ruin, has weakened our national defence, forsaken our allies, abandoned our troops, and started a Marxist regime .... but if you dare question this, you are a racist .... after all, our President is half-black.

“but if you dare question this, you are a racist”

That was all part of the plan from the beginning - Barry Soetoro and his handlers win no matter what. Bring it all down one way or the other.

The Repubs in Congress have to be in on this. They have done nothing of an intensity that shows they realize the Ship is being drilled full of holes on purpose.

Destroy the economy, leading to a complete restructuring of our society, economy and nation.

FDR’s new deal was the model, this is the full implementation.

Martin Weiss has been selling “doom and gloom” since the 1980’s. I really can’t take him too seriously.

Our elitist so called leaders are pushing women and children out of the way so that THEY can have the available seats on the lifeboats as the USS America economy sinks.

THEY were too busy getting drunk on power and prestige while the economy was headed directly for an iceberg.

*****

McCain’s pathetic campaign, along with his 2-year-old-like debate performances, was all the evidence that I needed to have in order to figure out what was coming on the horizon - and that a large portion of the GOP was complicit.

Our consolation prize is the knowledge that we have now had a half-black President and a wise Latina Justice. Diversity in action.

Also we can take with us the home version of the game, "Candyland". At least we have that.

Page 18, Figure 1-2, shows we're under water now and forever. From a footnote on the graph:

Spending in this figure excludes interest payments on the debt; hence, the gap between federal revenues and noninterest spending shown here does not equal the projected surplus or deficit.

The unfortunate truth is that we need to...Stop. Spending. Stop spending Chinese money. Tighten the belt and circle the wagons.

I have tried many times to spend myself out of debt. It made me feel good for a little while, but then it didn't work after all.

Then forget Weiss. What do you think of the reports themselves?

I can’t give you an honest answer because I have not had time to read the reports. I suspect, however, that even if the reports are negative, they are not nearly as dark as Mr. Doom and Gloom has presented them.

Is what he reported untrue? Do you discredit his source - the CBO or their anaysis. Do you think he reported on the CBO report accurately?

I really want to know what you know about this and if you are just talking knee jerk from what you have seen out of this author in the past, that is okay, too. I am wondering what “the rest of the story” could be if there is one.

I haven't read the underlying reports, but the organizations that produced them (i.e., the CBO) are supposed to be non-partisan and objective, and that is mostly the impression that I have had in the past after reading other CBO reports. Martin Weiss is an excellent salesman and over the years he has sensationalized certain aspects of finance, investing, and the economy in order to sell himself and subscriptions to financial newsletters and other financial products. I certainly wouldn't call him a liar or dishonest; rather he is all doom and gloom and puts a negative spin on even the most beneign statistics and events to support his dire predictions of imminent collapse of some aspect of the economy. He has been doing this since at least the late 1980's and the general theme of his opinions are as consistent and predictable as the phases of the moon.
