Black Leaders Ignore Black-on-Black Crime
The American Thinker ^ | October 06, 2009 | E.W. Jackson Sr.

Posted on 10/06/2009 3:25:19 AM PDT by Scanian

On Thursday, September 24th, after an apparently productive day at Fengler High School in Chicago, Derrion Albert, a black 16 year old honor student was knocked to the ground by a blow to the head with a railroad tie. He was then punched, kicked and stomped. Those who responded to rescue him were too late.

Derrion had walked into the middle of a fight between two rival black gangs. He attempted to help one of the victims in the melee and was killed for his trouble. This took place in Barack Obama's Chicago. All his work for "social justice" did a great deal for Obama, but it did nothing for Derrion Albert. Of course the President is not responsible for this tragedy, but it does expose the fatuous claim that such occurrences are the result of social injustice rather than the personal choice to engage in lawless behavior. The ghettos, drugs, gangs and violence are on display for all to see in spite of Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, Acorn and all the community organizing.

Is black-on-white violence to be preferred?

“It’s Whitey’s fault”—the ghetto equivalent of “blame it on Bush.”

I’d say that Obama mirrors some of what you are talking about.

Not(really) knowing his father has given Hussein more hangups than a walk-in closet and being raised by white grandparents caused him to be a misfit when he took the Chicago “community organizer” job. Trying to fit into the Southside millieu spurred him to latch onto Jeremiah Wright and his black liberation theology.

Obama “enjoying” Ludacris makes me think of Steve Urkel trying to “get down”—an absurd image.

Down inside, I doubt that Obama knows who he is or what he is due to a supremely screwed-up childhood and upbringing.

The kids you mention sound like they’re turning out similarly messed-up, lacking only the racial confusion that probably bedeviled Hussein.

Even Bill Cosby seems to be backing off his common-sense approach lately.

He’s probably tired of constantly being criticized by blacks for simply pointing out the obvious.

Of course not. It’s called the “soft bigotry of low expectations.”

Didn’t someone famous talk about that a while back?

I think he and Rahmbo have already figured that out, based on the anemic response to the Dhimmi call for pro-national healthcare hellraising at town halls.

A few SEIU punks turned out and some others were bussed in but on the whole the Obamanoid idea of disrupting the protest fizzled pretty bad.

All you need to do is review his “social justice” work as a lecturer at U of Chicago Law School to see that’s about all he’s ever been good for.

Derrion Albert, a black 16 year old honor student was knocked to the ground by a blow to the head with a railroad tie

aaaarrrgh!!
It wasn't a 'railroad tie'. It was a long 2x4

It was still wrong, senseless and animalistic. It also showed how crime in Chicago and the gangs are out of control and also how low the black community has sunk. But darn it, have any of these 'journalists' ever SEEN a real RR Tie? One person can't pick one up, let alone a HS kid and then start swinging it. So please, stop the RR Tie stuff.

Where I grew up in Chicago we played on the RR Tracks(1). I KNOW what a RR Tie is. (And a RR Tie 'Spike' but that's another matter.)

(1) The tracks were elevated and in winter we'd slide down them on our sleds. In summer we'd roll down them in barrels --- very cool. We'd also hop slow freights for a ride to the Park ;-)

Derrion's murder does not fit the black liberation narrative. As one civil rights leader said to me, "If we focus on black on black crime, we let white folks off the hook."

Off the hook for what? Being victims of black crime?

First there is one nice black couple trying to find a better place for their kids, then follows the exodus, as more and more black couples come in, and they are looking to find a decent place for their kids, but it turns out their kids ARE the problem, and soon enough of the problems arrive to where everyone has either got to go or live in this mess. Enter the ghetto.

Thats the same as when people flee liberal blue states for the red states. Soon, when enough of them move in, the red states get screwed up too.

I’ve heard people say that and wondered what the hell they were talking about also.

The whole gang would have trouble handling a railroad tie. Haven’t any of those so-called journalists ever played on the tracks? Or used RR ties to erect garden walls or borders?

White flight isn’t just whites. The black families that live around us left their previous homes to get their kids into better schools and away from dangerous neighborhoods.

Yep. First the whites flee. Then the blacks flee. Then the whites flee the blacks again, etc. The cycle continues...

Liberals don’t understand the concepts of duty and honor, whether to your family, neighborhood or country. These fat liberals sit in their over-stuffed chairs waiting for the next tidbit of mindless titillation. They will not slip on a pack, grab a rifle and die on a hill for King obuma. They can’t even defend their kids.

The criminals in Washington are hearing the voice of the people in the tea parties. Next will come choosing grassroots leaders and organizing. And the RINOs are not invited.

Exactly.

Playing on the RR Tracks, probably not. That's something us 'middle class' old timers who grew up in cities did :-)
(heck our two daughter never saw a RR Tie, or Tracks, up close, just from the Metra Platform. That's from suburban living.)

As to gardens, again, no. They all live in apartments in Manhattan or have 'their gardener Pedro' do the dirty work and heavy lifting if they do have a house.

“And the RINOs are not invited.”

Amen to that! And if any show up in order to make political points, they should be shown the door immediately.

I suppose you’re right.

My idea of “teenage rebellion” was to hop freights and end up wherever they were headed. A dumb thing to do but messing with drugs and gangs would have been worse.
