The Huffington Post has made it crystal clear where it stands on the news that director Roman Polanski may have to answer for his 31-year-old crime of child rape: "Move on, everyone. Nothing to see here. Keep on directing, Roman. Love ya!"
The popular liberal site has posted numerous essays since news that Polanski was arrested in Switzerland broke over the weekend, each arguing vehemently against the Oscar winner's persecution...
But HuffPo readers aren't buying it. And boy, are they angry.
Check out the comments... and you'll see faithful HuffPo readers aghast that the site could be defending the indefensible.
Here are just a few comments:
"Nope, it's not a "conspiracy." Child rape is a crime and Polanski should serve his time -- he should have served it long ago instead of trying to pay off his victim"Could this be the work of conservative "trolls" trying to sway opinion on the site? Possible, but highly doubtful. My best guess is that some issues go beyond ideology, like sticking up for a 13-year-old girl cruelly attacked by a much older man. Thank goodness for that."I am an California attorney, a confirmed Democrat-liberal and admirer of Mr. Polanski's talents and those of many who have niavely signed this petition... Mr. Polanski did what he did and no amount of spin or the passage of time can change that. He drugged and raped a child. What don't you understand about that? Is it O.K. to do that to your daughters?... Shame on you, all of you. You should (and probably do) know better.
"Let's see these artists sign their names to a petition to excuse the drugging of and forced sex with a 13 year old. Let's put it bluntly."

It might be racism...
Where’s the Pigs flying and Hell frozen over pics......
I wonder if Polanski owes any back taxes?
The View's Whoopi Goldberg on Polanski: 'It Wasn't Rape-Rape'
Yes, Whoopi, let's talk about what actually happened, rather than "what we think it was". And who better to recount it than the victim herself. These are excepts from the grand jury testimony of Samantha Gailey. I warn you, her account is extremely graphic and disturbing, but it is important that we see just how horrible this event was if we are to understand the absurdity and utter crassness of Goldberg's comments.
Go to link, partial trial transcript too graphic to post.
I’m waiting for some liberals to step up and offer their
pre-teen/teen daughters to Polanski for an uplifting and enlightening artistic experience.
I hear the bastard criminal skipped on paying sales tax by ordering a paperback book from Amazon!
Actually I think it might be rather informative for all the H-wood types to sign a petition in FAVOR of Polanski>
An old Dennis Miller joke (from when he was still a liberal):
Went to the casino this weekend.
Played blackjack all night long.
Had a horrible night...
I saw more 13s than Roman Polanski
Nope. Liberals have no morals whatsoever.
go ahead. snd your kid to Hollywood. I mean sacrifice your kid to Hollywood.
go ahead. snd your kid to Hollywood. I mean sacrifice your kid to Hollywood.
stoopid libs
If Roman the rapist were a Catholic priest, the lowlifes who are defending him would be all over the case, no matter how long ago the crime.
Hey, it’s just the casting couch ... Whoopie said as much. And, series, what about the mom who pimped her daughter? She should get as much if not more punishment as the lecher.
If he does he's eligible to be appointed Secretary of the Treasury.
Hi!
Are you telling ME to send my kids to Hollywood?
Your a writer and I’m trying to discern your message.
we’ll see how quick the venture capital pulls out..
