Please view H.R. 3200 and leave a comment. I look forward to reading your thoughts and restoring public trust in the government by raising the level of openness, order and discourse.
On January 20th, 2009 the White House promised to publish legislation on their website for five days, and allow the public to review and comment before the President sign it. Nine months later, the President has not lived up to his promise. Since the President has failed to live up to his word, today I am making H.R. 3200 available for public comment through a new technology called Sharedbook.
H.R. 3200 will directly affect every constituent in my district. They must have the ability to read the bill and provide me with their feedback. I hope that by making this bill available for public comment, we will set a precedent for future legislation and restore the public trust in government by raising the level of openness, order, and discourse.
Um, hasn’t this bill been available for a couple of months now? Or is this the Baucus bill??
How long before they don’t even let the “opposition” party have access to proposed legislation? Oh, it’s like that already in that they vote on things not yet read or written.
Saw Baucus on TV today sneering at Republicans who wanted the bill posted. Just another Lib POS.
I will be glad to comment but I had problems reading the bill there.
Here is the bill

I lived in his district when I was in Houston. Culberson is a good man.
Somebody put the whole thing online? Poor guy will be out of a job soon.
All that you will see online is a conceptual bill. In otherwards, the real bill is yet to be written.
The RATS want to vote on a conceptual bill and then put the details in later.
We are in real trouble. Time to hit the phones folks.
Pelosi agreed to it. She didn’t at first but I believe it was agreed on. The only thing is it is the same amount of pages as the last HC bill online.
I am wondering how the democrats thought they would stop the ONLINE thing when thomas.gov et al, would have put the bill up anyway, right?
It’s the same bill.
What Culberson’s site allows you to do is to register and then make comments about specific parts of the bill.
I thought you were talking about the Senate Finance Committee’s markup that they are hiding from us.
SB — Do we even know what number it is?
Oh, wait, it’s not a SB yet, it doens’t have a number. Laughing at myself.
The same bill? You mean they speant a month, we paid them,
they vote themselves payraises and they did nothing but doctor it up? Some things look different I just have not pin-pointed yet if it is coy, user friendly wording with the same intent and meaningm or not.
Gag order to be issued within the next six hours.
Gag order to be issued within the next six hours.
Sleep tight.
EXCELLENT!!!
Or maybe we can all look back at our own PINGS and just copy and paste our own comments of the past? That way we might be sure to have covered all points of concern that we have addressed.
Seems like, after 9/12, everybody went to work and forget about it. Well, they are going to pass that bill and I am going to have to pay $6 or $7000 per year, if not more, that I do NOT pay right now...I don’t even know where I will find the money and I am 62 year old so I am on the death panel...
I am terrified. Are we going to let them pass that bill???
It seems like it. I don’t see anyone in the street anymore - no mopre townhall meetings - so they are winning because we are silent again.
