Meet me in the red trailer NOW!!!
Geez, is it that time again? Go Mark Go.
Ouch Racing.
Hambone run over the foot
Mears crewman out for season with a broken foot
http://www.nascar.com/2009/news/headlines/cup/09/22/cpittman.out.season.cmears.ap/index.html
I got the cup if you got the bourbon
Ouch Indeed! I bet it hurts when that happens...
That Mark Martin has had some kind of year.....
Time for Flipper to git to Victory Lane once this year!!!
I have actually been to a race at Dover, the year Newman won both, and it is a great track. I want to go again. But when Richmond is your home track it is hard to go away.
Owe ya a taco or a banana....or what ever.
Thanks for the ping and a nice thread it is!
Seems that as of late, I have not had time to watch a race, let alone play on the thread.
There are 4 - FOUR - races that I will absolutely not miss.
The Monster Mile is one of those 4 races.
I told the Mrs long ago, "Your 'Honey Do' list takes a back seat to certain races and certain caliber's.
For example, when the 308 semi-auto arrives, my words were, "x-out Saturday morning - got serious bidness the boy and I need to tend to! The Gun-Powder God has spoken!"
'They are racing at Dover this weekend, dear.'..........
"This is a must watch and a 'Do not disturb' race."
The Nascar God's have spoken, so it is, so it shall be!
Funny thing I noticed......time to go shoot - I get up real early....xyl still sleeping.......
Time for the race........vacum / carpet cleaner / etc has to come out......
"Dearest wife, the Nascar God's are gonna get you!"
Long live 7.62 and .308!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Richmond ain’t bad either! It’s nice to live near a track. I’ve got TMS.
I’ll take the Taco! LOL
And you are blessed to have an understanding better half!
I can watch the winner’s burnout and be home in 20 minutes.
Wow..takes me longer to get out of the parking lot!
Thank you and God bless you.

...and 9mm and 22LR......oh, and can't forget the xyl's 380...:)
Got it. Good looking thread.
Wind shifted this morning down here, rain didn’t start until mid-afternoon. Didn’t get much and I think it’s done already.
Thnx...
Got some sprinkle rain here today. Last night was exicting tho...
We had some nice breezes this morning. Temps dropped about ten degrees in one shot.
Thank you for the great thread. I needed a little sanity early this week.
Not that I’m going to find it here....
Real bummer seeing the 07 go. IMHO the Jack Daniels Chevy was among the sharpest paint schemes in NASCAR.
Am I a RACIST if I enjoy NASCAR on Sunday ??? Get it ??? RACIST !!!
Come on SMOKE get back in the groove !!!
Sanity calling. We got fog so thick that you can cut it with a fork...
Did you answer the phone when it called? They always say “wrong number” when I answer. I’m not crazy, I’m just a little unwell....
Nice weather here. Last gasp before 6 months of winter.
Clear w/highs of 93, low’s in the 20’s, supposed to last for the next 5 days. Great fall weather.
Dover is a wild-card race, like Talledaga, to me. Can’t get a handle on my selections, which is nothin new, but this race & track are fraught w/multiple dangers. Whoever I pick for my “C” driver will wreck and my “B” drivers leave me shaking my head. Add to that the 40% chance of rain at Dover on Sunday...all in all a good day to hide in the dog-house. I suspect it will be a boom or bust day for contenders & players.
We should add “FF” (fist-fights) to the number of caution guesses this week. I think the inner child is going to release some pent-up emotions...Dale Jr., K.B., Ambrose, Montoya, Harvick are all good candidates.
Not to worry HDx2 as these only occur after dark 0 thirty...
20’s???
It’s 70 here and I’m thinking about turning the heat on.
Two Halloweens ago it was -10 for the little frozen trick-or-treaters. I fight the Mrs. about having the heat run in the morning then turning on the air-conditioning in the afternoon. Bend is reknown for having the shortest (garden) growing season in the U.S. of 89 days w/o frost. We didn’t make it this year.
Smoke from a 7000 acre blaze 100 miles S of Bend moved into the area late this afternoon.
Local news says a man was arrest here for a double-murder commited in Lubbock 3 years ago. Leave the light on for him.
Another good race coming up and I’m clueless as who to run. And that’s a good thing cause once I start thinking about it it’s all over.
I agree, the hustle & bustle around the house at race time is the primary reason I record races and watch them a couple of hours after start time.
Your solution is simple. Portable satellite dish, vehicle w/electric accessories, TV on the tail gate and you can plink away during commercials. You can reload during the race; you don’t have to worry about missing cautions as they always happen during the commercials.
You cannot, under any circumstances, shoot your TV!! It just ain’t right.
Please send the guy back unless you want to support him for the rest of your life, we will terminate.
Chilly last night. Left the windows open and had to get two quilts!
One-way ticket coming up!
An electric blanket night here too BUT we had to leave the windows closed and run the air-conditioning all night because of the smoke. The “just pretend we’re camping” argument no longer works as the last time this happened the house smelled like smoke for a week.
I’ve selected my drivers before the deadline w/a roll of the dice. We’ll see if its “snake-eyes” or a “seven” come tomorrow & Sunday.
Good day ta ya.
I don’t do electric blankets, have a mother-in-law that makes quilts. :)
We normally have bad smoke in the spring from the Yucatan brush burning.
Corpus Christi set a new record yesterday. Lowest high temperature EVER recorded. (70)
Our record here yesterday was 14% humidity. Really. Isn’t any moss here in the high-desert.
Quilts are great to snuggle under but, with my older and aching body its bliss to crawl into bed under toasty covers.
I wonder who the next victim(s) will be Sunday in the race for the chase?
We had our normal 95% humidity. It was sprinkling, drizzling all day.
I still like my quilts, well, and my central gas heat helps. ;)
Should be another crashfest, short track/short temper.
Pay no attention to X2 as he has given me 12 different drivers on his roster this weekend. It’s a balmy 59 on the shores of Humboldt Bay and humidity of 92% but it’s different type of humidity. Here is a easy to read guide to RH... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Relative_humidity
Easy to read guide????
“A gas in this context is referred to as saturated when the vapor pressure of water in the air is at the equilibrium vapor pressure for water vapor at the temperature of the gas and water vapor mixture; liquid water (and ice, at the appropriate temperature) will fail to lose mass through evaporation when exposed to saturated air”
I’m running 12 drivers cause I’m special. Na-na-na.
I haven’t had a life size pin-up on my door sine Betty Gable was a teenager but I just put up a full size poster of JJ. And no, it will he will not be on my team this Sunday....
Different type of humidity eh?
That’s about like the time I spent Thanksgiving in West Texas. They had that “dry” cold. BS, it was freakin’ 20 degrees!
Who is Betty Gable? :)
A full-size poster of J.J.? Is the poster for you or for this Misses....think before you answer. All I’ve got is a NASCAR calendar with the #24 for September.
I know who you’re thinking of running and I wouldn’t...they haven’t done anything this year and I don’t think they’re going to start now.
Of course you are ahead of me, and most everyone else, in points but would I steer you wrong?? heh heh
Dear Dr. tubebender,
My son is left today to visit friends in Seattle and tonight I found my wife putting capsules of an unknown substance in my food dish. I don’t know if she’s trying to worm me or if she’s feeling frisky.
What should I do?
Signed,
HDX2
