The only way this could make sense would be if someone did an Amish-rigged installation of the coffee maker using vinyl tubing not rated for waterline pressure, which subsequently burst at the beginning of a weekend.
Otherwise, the story’s garbled.
Boith of mine are commercial Bunns. I don’t even measure coffe .. I just periodically dump two containers in the hopper and it even meter out the right amount of grounds. I guess for a coffee drinker like me it is akin to the beer drinker that has one of those beer meisters machines that let the homeowne have a tapped keg ready on tap.
I am a coffeholic .. not on the 12 step program... I am on the 17 step opps that is 17 cup a day program.
It is really the only vice I have ...
You should always turn off the water on any washer when not using it. An internal hose can break. Some makes only have press fit hoses inside and have a tendency to come apart. They offer retro fit kits that include clamps. I wouldn’t leave dishwasher running when not at home either.
