At The Corner yesterday, Hans von Spakovsky offered a compelling explanation: Carter himself has a history of virulent racism. The facts, drawn from A Voting Rights Odyssey by Laughlin McDonald, director of the ACLU's Voting Project, are astonishing:

I would suggest that "Jimmuh" is using the Goebellsian propaganda technique of Turnspeak; i.e., the propaganda technique where one accuses one's opponent(s) of the odious beliefs or acts that one is doing oneself, but "Jimmuh" never seemed smart enough to me to do such a thing.

As others have said, Carter is most likely projecting his own prejudices onto others as their motives. Just like someone who cannot trust is himself (or herself) generally not trustworthy... Someone who sees race or racism behind everything is, obviously, assigning motives to that person based on race. That by definition is racist. Hence, Carter and the other race-baiters are showing themselves to be racist. Probably the only racists involved in the whole issue.

Carter is looking for any opportunity, even if he has to create one, to cover his own guilt. This is an old adolescent ploy of accusing everyone else around him. Even most adolescents are now more imaginative. Of course, there is the other virulent disease of arrogance that is also now so pervasive. Jimmy sets himself up as being well qualified to judge the thoughts of others. He is a sad case.
It’s as Ann Coulter says, liberals accuse conservatives of the very things they do instead. ‘Projection’ is a fitting definition.
While Jimmah was on the school board, my dad was integrating the Houston Bus Terminal.
What I don’t understand is how people could play racial politics in America like its the 1960s when it is 40 years later. The only large “minority” in America, today, from a world wide perspective, is actually probably white people.
He hasn’t had a masculine thought in 45 years (if ever). That’s his trouble; he thinks like estrogen.
Example: when my grown-up kid wants money, I want to get in his face. That’s when my wife’s estrogen kicks in and wants to mollycoddle him, enable him, for the sixteenth time.

There is only one little problem with Presidents Carters assumption that we can’t accept a Black man as president that is why we are racist. Well last I heard President Obama is half white, so he isn’t 100% Black. Of course all us smart people judge a person by their actions, not the color of their skin. When I look at my neighbors I look at them as neighbors and friends, not an Indian Family, Black Family, White Family, Puerto Rican Family. It just burns me up when people try to tell me what I think.
