Brzezinski: We are not exactly impotent little babies. They have to fly over our airspace in Iraq. Are we just going to sit there and watch?

Brzezinski: Well, we have to be serious about denying them that right. That means a denial where you aren’t just saying it. If they fly over, you go up and confront them. They have the choice of turning back or not. No one wishes for this but it could be a Liberty in reverse.

Obama is far more concerned about what the U.N. thinks of the United States, than the security of the only viable democracy in the Middle East. He will side in every way with the “Israel-haters” — he will try to put the onus on Israel to pacify the very Arab enemies that not only were behind 9/11 (directly and indirectly) -— but continue to fund the Arab shills that carry out the attacks and trouble-making against Israel.

Yeah, I rolled over when I saw that comment about “our airspace”. Look at it this way, this clown was a national security advisor, not some chump on the street. In fact, the chump may know more about foreign relations that does Brezinski.
As a native of Poland, I wonder how he feels about OZero’s change in our defense posture regarding it? Maybe he views Polish airspace as actually belonging to Russia since they did invade the country in WW2.

Brzezinski and Carter are both noted Jew-haters and anti-Semites.
Iraqi airspace...based on what I’ve read...belongs to Iraq. The US has zero rights to fire on any aircraft unless it’s attacking US or Iraqi forces. I’m going to make a guess that there is no mechanism for the US to ask for permission to shoot down aircraft, and we have no intention of making such an agreement.
I’ll add another problem here...we’ve added so many visual ID rules that if a US pilot guessed it was Israel...he might take his time in getting to the ID point, and then this long process of getting permission to do anything...ends up letting the plane leave Iraqi airspace.
In the end...the “Brez” lives in a mythical world where a bunch of college professors pretend to know something on world events. Luckily, he has a think-tank that keeps him paid and happy.
Seems like the Israelis had already met with the Saudis and the Kuwaitis to get permission to enter their airspace, thereby circumventing Iraqi airspace. I read that several months ago.
Zbig is a Realist/Pragmatist and they have been the traditional/dominant group in US foreign policy. Certainly under republicans.
OTOH, the NeoCons dominated US foreign policy for a few short years under GW Bush but Bush removed them in 2006 and put the Realists back in charge, Surely you remember the Iraq Study Group and Realist Bob Gates replacing Rumsfeld?
Obama, of course, retained the Realists.
As for Zbig, the foreign press is reporting that he, Scowcroft, and Kissinger are writing Obama's back up plan, to be brought forward when Israel backs out.

I would say, that, shooting down the planes of an ally, would not constitute a lawful order.
It kinda reminds me of that moment in Dr. Strangelove where the arm takes over and tosses out a Nazi salute. Except that Brzezinski’s comments appear neither involuntary or impulsive, but instead a considered view. Heck, he probably thinks it “moderate”.
It will be within a much shorter span than that. If we shoot down Israeli jets, America will never recover. Katrina will look like a picnic compared to what He will do. Did God cause Katrina? I don’t know. We must support Israel. God will NEVER let Israel go. They are His chosen people and America is NOT. He promised Israel to the Jews. He NEVER goes back on His word. We will go down in history as a once great nation that completely lost it’s way. We had better pray that this doesn’t happen.

Nothing in politics happens by accident.
This is an intentional warning to Israel by close friends of the Administration.
But it is just a threat. The Saudi’s have already given a green light for the operation against Iran and their cooperation with the US or Israel is essential.
Israel will ignore the threat, but may move up their planned assault on Iran.
Someone please remove Mr Brezinski from behind the podium and escort him back to his room...and tighten the straps up a bit more so he can’t get out again.

Alas, they’ll never come to (our) justice.
I hope to God (literally) that our commanders in Iraq would not be so stupid as to engage Israeli jets as a political statement. I don’t think that will happen; even with Obama in control, I think we will reluctantly allow what must be done. Obama will be like Pontius Pilate; I wash my hands of this Iran matter, you people decide the fate of the accused.
