If you think Muslims and Christians share similar values and that Islam should be welcomed into the United States and Europe, you might want to catch the latest headlines from Yemen.
A 12-year-old Yemeni girl, who was forced into marriage by her parents, died during a painful childbirth that also killed her baby, a children's rights group said Monday.
Fawziya Ammodi struggled for three days in labor, before dying of severe bleeding at a hospital on Friday, according to Ahmed al-Qureshi, President of the Seyaj Organization for the Protection of Children.
"Although the cause of her death was lack of medical care, the real case was the lack of education in Yemen and the fact that child marriages keep happening," Mr. al-Qureshi reports.
Fawiya, who came from an impoverished family in Hodeidah, was forced to drop out of school at the age of eleven and to marry a 24-year-old Muslim man last year.
A recent study by Sanaa University shows that more than half of all young Yemeni girls are married off before the age of 18 -- often to older men, some with several wives.
The issue of Yemeni child brides came to the forefront in 2008 with the report of 10-year-old Nujood Ali.
Nujood was pulled out of school and married to a man who beat and raped her for weeks after the wedding ceremony.

Common six hundred years ago in the Christian world. Most noblewomen were married well before their 18th year. Edward I was IIRC 11 and his wife 13. They could be married to much older men, and women of higher rank could be betrothed even as infants.
Of course this isn’t six hundred years ago anymore either.

Practices such as polygamy and child marriage served a purpose in ancient societies, but that is not the case today. In todays modern world, women the world over should have access to education and true equal standing with men in the eyes of the law.

Um...yeah. So was dying in your twenties. That's the problem with a religion stuck in the 7th century, i.e. Islam.
This comes from the Islamic practice called mahr (bride price, usually mis-translated as "dowry").
The husband pays a price for the right to marry the girl and have sex with her. Officially, the amount is the girl's property, which she would keep in the event of divorce. In practice, I'm guessing all too often the girl's father holds onto the money "for safekeeping".
When a man has paid a respectable amount of money to acquire a sex slave, it's not surprising that he wants his money's worth.
This practice also produces a pathological Islamic society, with wealthy men buying multiple wives, and poor men being wife-less and sexually frustrated and cranky all the time.

M uch has been spoken about the inhuman treatment of women in Islam. If one wants to know the reason behind this, one has to closely examine Mohammed’s personal life. As far as women are conecerned, they were just objects of sexual desire for Prophet Mohammed.
Here I expose the insatiable sexual appetite that Mohammed possessed. This goes to show that among others, one of the main reasons for forming this insidious religion, Islam, was so that sex was freely available to the male followers in the name of Allah. As I have already proved in my article, Wondrous Treatment of Women In Islam, the Quran justifies treating a woman as nothing but an object for sexual desire and sometimes even an ordinary object would be treated better. Suras in the Quran seem to pop up conveniently, so that Mohammed can justify his perverted sexual actions. For example, when Mohammed wanted his adopted son’s wife, he suddenly got a revelation from Allah declaring it right to take another man’s wife. When he wanted to stop his wives from quarreling or to accept more wives, he got a quick revelation for it. My above points are illustrated from the verses taken from Sura 33.

Being “good decent people” is not possible under Islam.

No, no....this can’t be...Islam is a religion of compassion and Allah is a loving god.....oh wait a minute....uh.....well......uh...maybe not.
No, its not a contradiction, and that is the inate evil in it. Without the sanctioning of this “religion” most would never ever imagine doing the things that this “religion” allows, but since it is allowed and defended in this “religion” they can be convinced to do these things.
Are there truly evil Muslims? Well there are 2 Billion of them world wide,so certainly some are.. However the vast majority are not, but many can be convinced to truly evil acts because they are told its Allah’s will and be shown direct quotes from the Koran justifying it. The same can be said of Christians in terms of some being truly evil and some being told its Gos’s will can get them to do heinous acts, they only number about 1 Billion worldwide and they cannot be shown quotes from Christ himself santioning the acts.

All you need to know about the fundamental differences between Islam and Christianity, is Christ died for your sins, Mohammed would kill you for them. These are completely diametrically opposed ideas.
Yes, the significant thing is that Islamic evil is not just the result of people misunderstanding or ignoring their religion; it directly springs from the foundations of that religion, the founder’s words and actions, and as a result, the more observant the Muslim, the more evil he will be.
