Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Democratic leaders are calling on Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) to apologize for heckling President Obama as a liar.
Wilson shouted to the president "you lie" after Obama said illegal immigrants would not benefit from health insurance coverage from the reform bill. Obama glared disgustedly in the direction the remark came from, as did Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Vice President Joe Biden.
House Democratic Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.) called Wilson's outburst "embarrassing," while McCain said it was "totally disrespectful" and that there was "no place for it in that setting or any other."
McCain said Wilson "should apologize for it immediately."

Did you see the death glare Pelosi shot Congressman Wilson? One can only imagine the retribution planned. Still, I think he’s a hero, and even Brian Williams had to refer to the “liar” comment in his brief summary of the speech. As for McCain, he got his grinning cameo shot, so what does he care? He needs to be primaried out.
Interesting how Sarah Palin gets under 0’s skin. By his undignified slam, he elevated her in stature, AND she made the Teleprompter add in his lame pledge to discuss legal reform at the end of his speech. (Like we think THAT’s ever going to happen). Go Sarah Go!
McCain needs to be defeated in the GOP primary.
We need to draft John Shadegg to run against him.
I can only imagine the private horror that Sarah Palin must feel, watching this poor excuse of a man, and thinking that she was actually on the same ticket with him.
Funny how things work out sometimes. If McCain had won the presidency, we'd be stuck with a liberal Democrat President, pretending to be a Republican. All the while, he'd likely be doing nearly as much damage to our republic as Zero, but our side would be taking the blame for it. Meanwhile our best and brightest hope, Sarah, would be trapped in the VP position, unable to stop him.
Instead, we now have the Dems in complete control, and making a dog's breakfast of everything. They own it ALL, too, and their mishandling of the country will catapult our side, and Sarah, into power soon.
It really is funny how things work out sometimes.

Here in North Texas, nearly every McCain/Palin sticker I've seen, has had the McCain cleanly razor sliced away.
I saw quite a few like that during the campaign, too.

Yes he should.
But at least he was the vehicle that brought us Sarah Palin. Note that I didn't thank him for it, nor do I necessarily give him credit for choosing her. If the choice had been his alone to make, he would have likely chosen Olympia Snowe.

Like someone commented upthread, I think they actually did break him in the Hanoi Hilton. His actions just never seem to compute, which tends to lend credence to the theory that they cracked him.
McCain heroically gave up some of the prime years of his life fighting communism.
Now, in his senior years, he is patting the Communists on the back and criticizing those opposing them. Vote him out NOW, Arizona.
McCain can go to hell.
McCain can't even impersonate a Republican.
He did lie.
Most of that speech was lies.
The rest was half truths.
