Washington, DC --(AmmoLand.com)- Data released by the FBIs National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) reported 1,074,757 checks in August 2009, a 12.3 percent increase from the 956,872 reported in August 2008.
So far that is roughly 9,076,205 gun bought this year! The total is probably more as NICS background checks may cover the purchase of more than one gun at a time.

They have one model for 245.99, plus of course shipping and going through a licensed dealer for delivery. Personally I would rather hunt down a dealer and buy one from the store, much less hassle involved.
Welcome news. Puts a great big grin on my face.
I like the looks of it. It's not on the Kalifornia "Not Unsafe Hanguns" roster, so I can't get it yet. How do you like it?
I just got a thousand rounds of their "non-penetrator" 62gr 5.56mm last week. It was a long wait, and looks like it will be again. Actually, it quite easy to blow through a few hundred rounds a time at a range session.
Accident, or "direct action"?
I’ve not shot the Kel-Tec, but the Ruger is very popular right now as well.
See this, though:

God bless John Moses Browning!
Sorry, numbers don't back that up. About 86% of US Jews voted for obozo, according to Jerusalem Post, reported at about obozo's 100th day.
Thanks for the url.
I have already been reading some reviews. I get a little compulsive about research before I purchase something like this and I’m not sure that I really gain anything from it.
I think I’ll look at the Kahr P380 also but it just came out and it is VERY expensive (for a 380).
I found the auction page, thanks.
It will be absolutely be best for obozo and the ATF (How else are they gonna find you and the gun?)
I’mfinally getting off my keester and getting my first guns. Figure a Mossberg JIC and a Smith and Wesson oughta do the trick.
My understanding it happened on the loading dock and smoke filled the factory, 3 months for the investigation to be completed, give or take.
Did you understand what I was really asking?
I bought a Keltec PF-9 from a local mom&pop dealer a while back for like $240.
I dont think you can purchase handguns over the internet? I dunno.
Too much suppposition.
The first question a potential gun owner should ask him/her self is, "Why do I want to buy a firearm?
Purpose?
Am I committed to getting training?
Will I ever us it?
Then lurk on and internet web site like www.SigForum.com and ask questions. There are thousands of options available o the prospective owner.
BTW, I have a few samples of my handguns on my FR homepage.
Please reconsider buying the Kel-tec P-3AT. Go to a range where you can rent the gun and fire a box before buying. I suspect that after one magazine your hand will be so sore that you don’t make it through the entire box. I didn’t care for it.
Plus those with state CHL/CCP/CCW licenses/permits which require a background check can purchase new firearms from a dealer with no NICS check.
Been there done that.
A sore hand wouldn’t bother me, my interest is in having something small and light weight enough that even on those days in the desert heat or inside the house that I will not carry a pistol that I will pocket the 380.
You can, but you have to have the weapon delivered to a local dealer, and have him conduct the NICS check. The gun goes onto his books, and then you fill out the paperwork, just as if you'd bought it from him. He'll charge what is *usually* a reasonable fee, but one you must include in your calculations of a "good deal" compared to just buying it from a local dealer. Probably a bigger effect with such an inexpensive firearm, percentage wise for sure.
