Van Jones Should Run for Mayor of Oakland (Free Republic, Freepers Mentioned)
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | 9/8/9

Posted on 09/08/2009 3:12:34 PM PDT by nickcarraway

I had to take a time out to send a little message to my friend Jack Cafferty at CNN. He has a blog post focusing on Van Jones and asking if the White House should have so many czars.

SNIP

The conservative attack on Jones, a swift-boating and a smearing that left Jones with a new national identity to build from. Yes, he's got to overcome the YouTubing he's gotten and he can do this with, well, new videos. Van's not the radical he was in the past, but you know what, Sean Hannity's not cavorting with the White Supremacist Hal Turner anymore either right?

SNIP

To my conservative friends at the conservative website Free Republic, er, Freepers, (and yes I do have Freeper friends and agree with them on not a few issues) which give me so much traffic (thanks!) I've got to let you know that people who support Van Jones, like me, aren't "commies" and in fact have some of you as friends.

I know it makes you feel good to haul off and trash people you don't know, but I think you're wrong about Van and would like him if you met him.

Give him a chance.

To Van, I say this: run for Mayor. For some weird, zippity-do-da, reason only the Lord knows, you've been given a powerful platform and an giant army of really pissed off supporters around America and certainly in Oakland.

You can do a lot of good here. Run for Mayor of Oakland. Strike while the iron is hot.

It would be perfect continuity for Oakland - Commie Ron Dellum to Commie Van Jones!

People in Oakland are just stupid enough to vote for Jones. They deserve everything they get. He can try out his “green” jobs program at a local level and see how it works. Just watch Van crash and burn. This is a perfect marriage. I hope he runs and wins. There's nothing to lose. Dellums is as bad as it gets, so Van Jones cannot be worse.

It would be perfect continuity for Oakland - Commie Ron Dellum to Commie Van Jones!

You forgot about Dellums' predecessor, Mayor Moonbeam hisself. Talk about a double play combo! "Brown to Dellums to Jones" doesn't have the ring of "Tinker to Evers to Chance", but they're just as deadly!

Van Jones at the Western States Center 2006 CSTI
http://www.coyoteco.com/?p=34

The guy is an out and out commie. Watch the video to see the manipulation. Straight out of the Communist Manifesto 1848.

And around 1230ish on the video he says we use the flag to commit “genocide”, etc., and we’re also “fascists’ and “bigots. Screw him.

Oakland fine. The WH not so fine.

“a swift-boating and a smearing”

These people are clowns. Pointing out the facts of the guy’s life is neither a swift-boating or a smearing. Perhaps the writer can tell us why Jones was less than honest in his security application?

As for running as a carpet-bagging mayor of Oakland, I would say that the dishonest and avowed communist Jones is the perfect man for the job. The only thing that would make it better is if the Bay Area seceded from the Union.

Uh huh. Remember those who said it couldn't get any worse than George H.W. and then George W Bush?

It can always get worse.

“Van's not the radical he was in the past”

http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/individualProfile.asp?indid=2406

After the demise of his anti-Prop 21 movement, Jones decided to change his political tactics. Specifically, he toned down the overt hostility and defiant rage that he previously had worn as badges of honor. "Before, we would fight anybody, any time," he said in 2005. "No concession was good enough; we never said 'Thank you.' Now, I put the issues and constituencies first. I'll work with anybody, I'll fight anybody if it will push our issues forward.... I'm willing to forgo the cheap satisfaction of the radical pose for the deep satisfaction of radical ends."

You are only half right. IT IS SWIFT-BOATING. The swift-boat veterans simply told the TRUTH about John F'in Kerry (who was in Vietnam if you didn't know). They served with him and new him to be a phony.

These men were patriots that served their country in Vietnam and then again by outing Kerry for the traitorous liar he is.

It should be considered an honor by any true patriotic American to be accused of "swift-boating" someone, or participating in McCarthyism.

Excellent idea.
What is left of Oakland after Jerry Brown ran a failing city further into the ground could benefit from the supposed green jobs he claims to be able to ‘create’. Let him try. The real world and real responsibility bite back. Of course, in Oakland they would keep him in power for years upon years - but I am so confident in the magnitude of his ability of to fail that I discount his ability to ever get out of Oakland (politically) again.

Van Jones became a revolutionary communist following the 1992 L.A./Rodney King Riots (58 dead)
various sources

Posted on Sunday, September 06, 2009 10:19:07 AM by ETL

"Jones was arrested during the L.A. riots and spent a short time in jail. "I met all these young radical people of color," he recalls, 'I mean really radical: communists and anarchists. And it was, like, "This is what I need to be a part of." I spent the next ten years of my life working with a lot of those people I met in jail, trying to be a revolutionary.'..."

From David Horowitz's FrontpageMag.com /DiscoverTheNetworks.org:

"Throughout its history, one of RCP's [Revolutionary Communist Party] principal objectives has been to foment civil unrest in the United States. The most notable example of such efforts occurred on April 29, 1992, when RCP members looted and trashed the downtown and government districts of Los Angeles, triggering the infamous Rodney King riots. During the days immediately preceding the violence, RCP -- which maintained close ties to the L.A. gangs known as the Crips and the Bloods -- had circulated throughout South Central Los Angeles a leaflet featuring a statement by RCP National Spokesman Carl Dix, titled 'It's Right To Rebel' -- a quote popularized by Mao Zedong.

Encouraged by Dix, RCP activists helped lead the riots that would leave 58 people dead, more than 2,300 people injured, some 5,300 buildings burned, and $1 billion in property damaged or destroyed. On the ten-year anniversary of the rioting, RCP member Joseph Veale fondly recalled the violence as 'the most beautiful, the most heroic civil action in the history of the United States.'"

You probably won’t believe this, but I followed your link —this lib writer claiming he knows freepers— and I actually clicked on that film segment featuring Zennie Abraham’s trip to CNN.

All I could wonder the whole way through his profoundly stupid, sophomoric clip (with super shaky camerawork, worse than a high-school cheerleader) was:

WHAT FREEPER IS “PALS” WITH THIS GUY...!?

He has BUDDIES here ?!?! TOTAL LIE..!
