LOGAN -- 100,000 people are expected for the rally, and as you can imagine getting that many people in and out of one location takes a lot of preparation.
Hours before the Friends of America Rally begins, crews continue to unload the needed equipment, putting the finishing touches on stage preparations that began 5 weeks ago.
"It's a continuous show. There's no stopping. That's why we have 2 stages, so there's something constantly being prepared. While someone is performing, something is being torn down while something is being set up," says David Dodd, Event Production Manager for the "Friends of America" Rally.
State and local authorities are also fine tuning their plans to get an expected 100,000 people in and out of the event, and to make sure they are safe during the rally.
"There will be more than a hundred law enforcement officers here. We'll have communications capability. We'll have some elements of the West Virginia National Guard here," says Jimmy Gianato, Director of the West Virginia Office of emergency Management. "It's going to be a traffic nightmare. We're going to turn Mine Road 22 one way coming in for 3 hours of the morning," says Chuck Runyon, Emergency Operations Manager for the West Virginia Department of Transportation.
Organizers call the event a government rally, concerned how policies and laws are effecting the American worker. Opponents however, believe people's fears are being stirred up for no apparent reason.
"I think it's funny. Global warming is a fear tactic. All the stuff Washington does when you speak out as we will on Labor Day is a fear tactic," says Massey Energy CEO Don Blankenship.
Depending on how well the event goes, Blankenship says its still too early to tell whether the "Friends Of America" Rally will be an annual event.
There is a video report with the WOWK story I posted above. At the end of that video the reporter said that WOWK will be streaming the rally live on their website, from 10am until 8pm.
Here's the link to the report, if I did it correctly:
Ted Nugent and Hank Williams Jr. are headlining. Nugent is listed as emcee, but I can't imagine he won't also be performing.
Bring marshmellows ,,,,, cause most Nugent fans roast marshmellows on the flames coming out of his @$$ !!!
saving
Thanks for link
I hate to be stupid but how do i get to todays live stream?
Band on stage right now is sort of locals, Blackwater Outlaws...
There must be some technical issues at the rally site’s 2nd stage, because these guys were supposed to hand off to the next on the schedule at around 10:30, but they’ve been given the word to keep on playing. They’re doing pretty good keeping things rolling until whatever bug gets worked out on the 2nd stage.
THANK YOU
works perfectly
Sweet Home Alabama!!
thanks again
:-)
Glad to help out.
one more question
How can this be moved to the top?
Boy Scouts doing Pledge of Allegiance.
Motor City Madman on now...
I hit abuse on myself (to get a mod's attention) and asked if they would put it in Breaking and add Live thread to title. If they think it's worth the move, they will do so. Otherwise, we just need to keep posting comments to keep it bumped for others to see the links to watch it.
Now he's also declared himself the Gun Czar.

I couldn’t be prouder of We the People
especially today seeing how many took the time to go to this rally.
I am so glad you posted this link
Thanks for posting that link!
