Two weeks of great weather have set the stage for a great rally this Friday, 9/11.
Many patriotic groups are gathering this week in Washington to protest growing taxes and increasingly intrusive government programs. These groups encourage fiscal responsibility and limited government.
Elected representatives who are out of touch with their constituents will find it hard to ignore the tens of thousands constituents on Washington DC streets. They won’t be able to just hang up.
We expect a large number of the participants to visit the DC Chapter of Free Republic’s Friday evening Support the Troops rally from 6pm to approximately 9:30pm.
The DC Chapter of Free Republic has been in front of Walter Reed Army Medical Center every Friday for almost 4 ½ years!
Gathering of Eagles, Gold and Blue Star Mothers and other groups who support our troops in so many ways will be very active this weekend, and we expect a number of them to stop by.
Many are coming to DC to participate in the 9/12 demonstrations for the first time and we especially urge you to drop by as well.
WRAMC Anti War Protester News
Over the past few weeks, Walter Reed has enforced their No Demonstrating policy on Walter Reed property.
This hasn’t impacted our activities, but has impacted the moonbats down the block. They had set up their signs inside Walter Reed property and have been very confrontative to the WR security police about this. Some of their recent signs have become more pointed against our troops
As you will see in the photos, WR has put yellow police tape – a line beyond which they can’t display behind them.
The DC Chapter was able to get a Permit from the Metro Police for the current moonbat (antiwar protesters) space. Mr Trooprally and Sensei Ern occupied that space for about 30 minutes this past Friday while the moonbat leader yelled and threw a tantrum at the Metro police.
The moonbat leader finally produced a current Metro permit which looked real. So the police asked us to move until the issue was resolved.
Right now the Metro police appear to have issued a permit to 2 groups for the same space. We will be following on this.
Friday, 9/11 Directions / Instructions To Walter Reed
From 6:30 pm to approximately 9:30pm
DC Chapter members should park in the church's gravel lot, (entrance in alley).
People with Military ID (retired or active), DoD stickers, etc will be able to park in the WR parking garage. Go to the front gate entrance, show your ID to the security guards and turn left into the underground parking lot.
Others can park on the streets, Georgia Ave and Elder and other residential streets.
Limited parking will be available in the paved lot. Part of the paved lot will be used for tables, refreshments, etc.
For the Freepers coming from the hotel, we plan on having limited car pooling to and from the Takoma Station (not Takoma “Park”) and Walter Reed. Plan on walking the 1/2 mile. We’ll be notifying the Metro police department about the walkers and have asked them to have extra patrols.
Walkers from the Takoma Station should exit the station, turn left and go under the tracks, proceed west along Cedar St, turn right on 5th St, then left on Dahlia St. Proceed west on Dahlia to Georgia avenue, take right onto Georgia Ave and proceed for one block north to the staging area at the northeast corner of Georgia ave and Elder St.

Yep, this Friday will be a big one for the DC Chapter. Be sure to come and meet and thank our supporters from around the Country. They are putting their feet where their past “Wishing we were there” or “with you in spirit” were. They are here with us.
FYI - the picture of the moonbats car on the curb, that was the 3rd time he run up on the curb. He initially stopped where Sensei Ern and I were standing and told us to get back to our corner. We told him to talk to the police.
This AAR should be titled “Operation Goad or How To Piss Off A Moonbat”.

Oh, I can hardly wait for Friday evening! I’m coming and will have two others with me. One from down here in Fayetteville who has been with us when possible at the Freeps here and one from MD that we are staying with for our days up there. This is my vacation. I work all year and use my vacation time to come and stand up for my country. I love it!

It seems that I get to be part of most things that irritate the moonbats, like the chemical warfare of cigar smoke a couple years ago, getting Code Pink on Youtube calling our troops terrorists (as a personal witness), and now doing the yellow tape recon, and claiming moonbat ground.
For the record, if more people had shown up before the moonbats did, the police were prepared to let us have their corners as well as our established ones.
I think this Friday, I will hold the Code Pink after party sign so that as they pull up, it will be what they read.
Can’t wait!
