Heads up for rich FReepers. This is definitely one occasion where I wish I were very rich. Sigh.

Maybe Rush Limbaugh will win and help her launch her 2012 presidential campaign ...

So what would happen if say.....David Letterman or Oprah ponied up the 25 grand just to get an exclusive? They should put in stipulations that no corporate sponsors, celebrities or hollywood types will be allowed in the bidding.

Has the auction been confirmed by Meg Stapleton?

IF not, likely bogus....

It's an auction that will be on Ebay. They'll get outbid.

I'm hoping the price goes very high ...

It's breaking news at the beginning of a holiday weekend. I suppose we'll have to see. Sky Net is one of the sites where we have to excerpt articles from, so I suppose they have at least a tiny bit of credibility.

And ... I suppose that could go either way.

Um, if this is a hoax, and someone posted this a few hours earlier and it was deleted by the moderators, if there is some way that a site search on the title would tell me if I goofed up?

I find this totally disgusting. If “Sarah” Palin was a man named “Sam” Palin, I guarantee you there would be no auctioning for a “dinner date” with a Hockey Dad! I admit, I don’t support Palin, but this certainly isn’t the way to win my vote. If she’s to be taken seriously, the fact that she’s a beautiful woman should be the frosting on the cake, not the focus.

If it is a hoax, it’s a hoax.

Nobody is going to harsh you for posting a story from a well known source.

Given all the “she missed yet another date” I tend to be sceptal - esp since sara is

on the road
has not posted this to her facebook page (that I know of) and her “team’ is pretty much 3rd string at best.

The big news here is the fire in Kotzebue yesterday that burned down 4 homes. Several familes are homeless and winter is at the doorstep....so that kinda puts the story in context for a lot of Alaskans.

Anyway, thanks for posting some Alaska news...and have fun this weekend!

Did you read through the whole article? It wasn't very long. Warren Buffet did something similar and I do believe he is still male.

How much do you suppose Obama could get if he auctioned off a dinner date? Except that he's already occupying the office of President and the answer is multi-millions of dollars except that he has to keep it under the table.

If she’s to be taken seriously, the fact that she’s a beautiful woman should be the frosting on the cake, not the focus.

Do you remember the 1992 elections and how many women voted for impeached ex-President Clinton because they thought he was handsome?

I recommend reading the article.

This is a charity auction to benefit "wounded war veterans".

Lunch with Warren Buffet fetched $2.1 million at auction:

Bidders have to be pre-approved. 25k BTW are the opening bid. It will result certainly a lot higher. A dinner with Warren Buffett raked in 2 Million. I think Palin will do better.

LOL. Pathetic. A charity dinner for 5 persons with Todd and Sarah Palin is "disgusting"? The same goes for the dinners with Warren Buffett and Karl Rove or Gary Sinise?

Your hate for Palin must have addled something.

This is an annual charity fundraising event, part of the Wounded Warriors Project, to raise money for wounded veterans from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. This story is in fact a few days old.

If raising money for war veterans disgusts you then why post on a patriotic website like Free Republic?

If I were rich enough, I’d do it just to talk hockey. My wife and I have nine children who all played hockey. They’ve played in over 70 different rinks in 7 states. That’s a lot of miles. I wonder if she can top that.

Wow blinded by hate much? I admit I am a huge Palin supporter but posts like that make it hard to take anything else you say about her seriously.

my guess is that Rush could have dinner with her, his treat of course, any time he’d like to jump into his GS and see her.....

And I would not be surprized if such a thing has already happened......

How about a freeper lottery. We each pitch in what we can, then according to how much we pitch in, That money goes into our Freeper bid. If we win, then one lucky Freeper gets to go. That Freepers name is pulled out of a hat that has a ticket for each person who puts money in the pot. Maybe even have it where the more money you put in the pot, the more tickets with your name on it get put into the hat... I am almost a tiny bit serious...

100% of proceeds from this auction will benefit the Ride 2 Recovery program whose mission is to improve the health and wellness of wounded warriors by providing a life changing experience that can impact their lives forever.

Hmmm. I don't think you're going to find anyone who belongs on this site, whether or not they support the Governor as a candidate disapprove of this one ...

This story is in fact a few days old.

I didn't realize that, sorry. But I'm glad to give them more publicity.

How about a freeper lottery.

See #19. The winning bidder gets to select four friends to come along for the ride.
