He was clearly headed in a leftist direction, and his approval ratings were dropping as he headed towards ‘64. Even if he had won reelection over Goldwater, it would’ve been probably close to as narrow as ‘60, and there not only wouldn’t have been a legislative landslide for the Democrats, we more than likely would’ve made gains, especially in the Senate from the disastrous ‘58 losses (the worst losses the GOP suffered since the advent of the popular election — among them would’ve been the defeat of liberals Albert Gore, Sr. by Dan Kuykendall (the future Memphis Congressman), Ralph Yarborough in TX by George Bush, the retention of the NY seat by Ken Keating (since RFK wouldn’t have been his opponent), in any event, getting us close enough in the Senate that an R-Conservative Dem coalition could’ve stopped radical proposals). By ‘66, the losses continuing for the Dem side would’ve put us well within reach of majority control or de facto control. The damage wrought from the ‘65-’66 Congress plague us to this day (which included Ted Kennedy’s drastic immigration “reform” bill, which opened the floodgates for the problems we have today, and Medicare, of course).

I don't agree with his going after Libby on those ridiculous charges but one case does not make him crap.

Is that like 'why throw a away a good life just because of one little murder?' lol

No. It doesn’t. Committing a crime is committing a crime.
