Add another name to the growing list of pols and would-be pols eyeing a run for Edward M. Kennedy's Senate seat: Former Red Sox ace Curt Schilling.
That's right, Mr. Bloody Sock himself apparently told NECN's Brad Puffer in an interview today that he, too, was considering running for the seat. Schilling would presumably run as a Republican -- he supported President George W. Bush in the 2004 election, and he campaigned for Senator John McCain in the 2008 presidential race.

Thoughts?
He would get my vote and support.
yea. LOL
remember game 5 of the 1993 World Series. game 6 of the 2004 World Series.
Schilling is fearless
You know what, I don't care. If we can get anyone in that seat, in that state who doesn't have a last name "Kennedy", it will be a VAST improvement.
I have no idea if Schilling could win - I doubt it - but, maybe he could actually make it a race, rather than a coronation.
Hell yes!
Give him the ball! He’ll strike out the moonbats!
correction
game 6 of the 2004 ALCS
Bingo!!!!
Awesome.
Love to see the liberals try to vilify him. He’s a hero in MA.
One thing about Schilling, you’ll never be wondering what he’s “secretly thinking”... it tends to come right out. That’s a good thing in my mind. No stealth candidate, he.
Run!!! He’s really very conservative. I’ll do what I can to help... Stuff envelopes, make phone calls, etc.
He’s got the money to run! I heard you need at least 10 million to attempt it and it will probably end up costing whomever wins 20 million!
If he makes it to the nomination I certainly will vote, and even support his candidacy. But, I recall a few years back when he tried to put his toe into politics, with everybody on the edge of their seats wanting to hear him talk about issues, he opened his mouth and gibberish came out. Now, this was a few years ago... and since baseball retirement, he’s had plenty of time for ramping up, so I’m cautious. But, it is important that Republicans make a stand here and put forth a good name-recognition candidate, given such a short cycle, and one in which there will be low turnout. May the primary race be plentiful and interesting! There are many great possible candidates that could possibly enter, such as Scott Brown.
This is an ideal situation for a such a candidate.
Here's an article about sports stars (and Heath Shuler) running for office.
2 former NBA players were recently elected Mayors or Detroit and Sacramento.
They went overboard with the "bloody sock" coverage on Schilling. But I like the way he pitched, didn't walk guys.
Yep! No Curt, no 2 World Series wins in Boston.
Don’t forget the job he and Randy Johnson did in the 2001 Series.
The man did his job on the baseball field, for sure!
EXACTLY!!!!!!
That’s for sure. He says it the way he sees it.
Our party is often short on getting audacious outside-the-box candidates to run. If this guy has a remote shot (I can’t speak to his sports appeal, since I know zilch about sports), why not run him ? If he can self-fund, even better, because he won’t be able to count on a dead state party to help him out.
