Civil Rights: Eric Holder's Justice Department plans to hire more than 50 new civil rights lawyers to ferret out racism in American society. And you thought you were getting a post-racial presidency.
Who could not be moved at hearing a newly sworn-in president note that "a man whose father less than 60 years ago might not have been served at a local restaurant can now stand before you to take a most sacred oath."
Indeed, one of the most alluring aspects of his campaign was the frequent message that putting him in the White House would be part of America's departure from its ugly racist past.
In his much-celebrated speech on race in Philadelphia in March of last year, he spoke of "my unyielding faith in the decency and generosity of the American people." He accused his former pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, of having "a profoundly distorted view of this country a view that sees white racism as endemic, and that elevates what is wrong with America above all that we know is right with America."

If it keeps coming back to race, the “black” 1/2 of Obama loses; they don’t have nearly enough numbers, and are fighting for the affirmative action college seats/jobs/political offices with Latinos and women who are similarly “victimized”. The explosion of Latinos in this country ended affirmative action, especially when they passed blacks as the largest minority group in 2000 rather than in 2010 when it was anticipated.
50 new lawyers? Racism? Likely, they will all be BLACK!
For sure they will all be liberals.
If you are obsessed with race, you believe everything ties back to race, you think its impossible to ignore race and maybe you even think its wrong to ignore it if it were possible, which its not... if you believe in ethnic politics, in dealing with people according to their ethnic background, then you are no doubt a Democrat. If you aren’t, you should be, its where you belong.
If you consider ethnicity to be of secondary importance, or not particularly important at all, if you judge a man by his character and his philosophy, but his ethnicity doesn’t much matter to you, if you consider yourself an American first, and your ethnic heritage comes second or not at all, you are probably a Republican.
If you want to be valued for your ideas, and your character, if you want to be valued for your philosophical beliefs and convictions, you are a natural Republican whether or not you realize it. If you look at your neighbor, or look in the mirror, and you see race, you are a natural Democrat. I occasionally see pundits opining that Republicans need to do, something, to attract more minorities into their ranks, but we have to be careful that we aren’t becoming “big d” Democrats in the process. We don’t want you to meet some mythical race quota. We want you if you are our spiritual brother. If you believe in limited government and freedom under God, you’re one of ours whatever your ethnicity. If you believe in race politics, you belong in the other party, good luck, God bless, its the next door down the hall.
Should we assume he's going to go after A.C.O.R.N. and the Black Panther criminals at the Philadelphia voting precint, with the extra 50 lawyers?
Race is just a tactic, a way of changing the subject and putting critics on the defensive. Justw what America needs: another 50 agenda-driven,politicized lawyers.
I literally can not look at Barack Obama. He makes me sick to the stomoch. Because our skin color is similar this alien from Indonesia or Kenya gained the White House.
Guilt ridden whites and race obsessed blacks voted for him and helped the radical, America hating leftists get this Marxist elected. We are all paying the price for the misguided people who voted for this imposter.
It is small consolation, but many of those people now understand their foolishness. Hopefully they will help vote the Democratic Party out of the majority in 2010. If that happens then our problem is getting Republicans elected who really believe in the Constitution.
Sounds like profiling to me. Let's take it to the streets man! No justice. No peace! Not that there's anything wrong with y'all profiling whitey. I'm just saying.
We have a winner.
that's much better.
Hussein hosted the “Beer Summit” to squash the conversation on race; I’m glad he did. He is in denial that Bush won 2 elections because he spoke some Spanish, while Gore & Kerry didn’t. By the time of his first win (2000), Hispanics had already surpassed “blacks” as the largest minority group. Bill Clinton’s 1992 victory (not even the 1996 one, where he sold them out with Welfare Reform) was probably the last one where a “black” vote had any impact; tellingly, even with that, our “first black president” never acquired 50% of the vote. Strange that so many “blacks” sense a triumph in a “mulatto” reaching the White House (during terrible times, where Mickey Mouse would’ve beaten McCain), when in fact this will probably be the last time anyone with a trace of “black” even gets to a general election. Whatever floats their boats, I guess...
Carlos:
Your post is very interesting.

I have been frustrated for a long time about the bloc voting of my people for the Democratic Party. If less than 50% of us voted for Obama I’m pleased. I have known that there are more blacks who do not embrace the radical leftist positions of today’s Democratic Party.
Many black Christians reject abortion and same-sex marraige, but they do not get much coverage. Anyone who achieves any exposure and is not in step with the Rangel, Jesse Jackson, Maxine Waters and the rest of the self-serving leftist idiots is vilified. To these parasites “Uncle Tom” is the term that they instinctively utilize if any black person expresses conservative ideas.
I do understand the joy black citizens felt when Obama was elected. When I was born the idea of a black president was inconceivable. For that matter so was the idea that blacks would be Mayors, of cities, city council members and police chiefs. Of course there was a natural tendency to try to elect a black man.
I pleaded with friends not to vote for THIS black man. One of the guys I stay in touch with by phone (He is in Phila. and I now live in Montana) said that he was going to vote for Obama. This guy is a hard working, responsible, home owning American. He worked for the same company for 28 yrs. without missing a day’s work.
he also has no idea what a Marxist is and does not read very well. I told him that it was racist to vote for Barack Obama because of his color. My friend didn’t care. he voted for him anyway. I hate that, but I understand it.
Your comment about a mullato was also interesting. Lots of folks today don’t even know about that term or its origens. Personally, being a mullato is probably one of the reasons the people who control Obama chose him for the job. They have had generations to dumb down Americans and instil white guilt into white Americans so deeply that they would vote for a black man to prove that they are not racists.
In fact they are brainwashed fools. I couldn’t care less whether we ever have another black president. I know that I will never vote for a leftist of any race.
McCain is a sell out. So is George W. Bush and his father. Ditto for Bill Clinton and Richard Nixon. They are globalists and I view them as traitors. What happens to America now depends on what the American people do to preserve the nation. Getting rid of the intrenched career politicians should be a priority.
You’re certainly right about the entrenched politicians; they all need to be replaced (on both sides). The reference to the “first black president” was to Bill Clinton; I’m unsure as to why the media labeled him as such, and I would have been offended by the end of his presidency. Obama did receive more than 50% of the vote (and an estimated 90% of the black vote). I don’t think Obama’s background (racial, economic, or otherwise) puts him in touch with either the black or American experience in any special way; his upbringing is certainly “atypical” of any group.
