Well, that’s the kind of thing I’m alluding to. And the smaller planes can be even more effective given their improved manuverability.

More pilots, more logistics and more operational issues with more smaller planes. The Supetankers shine when they can hit a fire before it grows faster than support can get there.

Not really, the updrafts created by the fire cause major turbulence and the very real possibility of a pilot losing control of the aircraft. There is also the small problem of power lines and other obstacles that make the use of small aircraft unrealistic.

If you haven't noticed, the state of CA is broke and the missives you've been posting on this and other CA fire threads miss the real point. It's not just about a fire fighter union.
