>>>>> Title II, Substitle C, Section 246 of the House health care bill (H.R. 3200) stipulates “no federal payment for undocumented aliens.” The Senate Bill states that beneficiaries of federal health care programs must be a citizen or an alien lawfully admitted to the United States

Meaningless without enforcement. We also have laws prohibiting people from coming into this country illegally and working.

So, Americans who worked hard all their lives, and put money into the system, are expected to forfeit their lives so that illegals can get good health care

Yes! Of course!

What are you, some kind of right wing racist demagogue!?!?!

The latest data show 22.1 million immigrants holding jobs in the U.S. with an estimated 7 million being illegal aliens. By increasing the supply of labor between 1980 and 2000, immigration reduced the average annual earnings of native-born men by an estimated $1,700 or roughly 4 percent. Among natives without a high school education, who roughly correspond to the poorest tenth of the workforce, the estimated impact was even larger, reducing their wages by 7.4 percent. The reduction in earnings occurs regardless of whether the immigrants are legal or illegal, permanent or temporary. It is the presence of additional workers that reduces wages, not their legal status.

The Bureau of Labor statistics for July 2009 show a national unemployment rate of 9.4 percent, including 14.5 percent for blacks and 12.3 percent for Hispanics. 14.5 million Americans are unemployed. Despite the economic downturn, the U.S. continues to bring in 138,000 new, legal foreign workers a month. This includes new permanent residents (green cards) and long-term temporary visas and others who are authorized to take a job. This makes no sense.

Not one penny of my hard earned amd painfully extracted tax dollars should be given to support ILLEGALS!

Need some legal help here: If the law does not expressly forbid medical care to illegal aliens then it is permitted?

We citizens will have to show our card....

Dallas County Hospitals were not allowed to ask for ID or status and the illegals came in droves! However, if you are of a “lighter color”, they want your insurance information. THAT would be DISCRIMINATION!!!

The entire and fundamental point of “Health Insurance Reform” is to bring the current 25 million++ illegals into the “legitimate” health care system, by taking it way from everyday Americans and making US pay for the illegals.

Also we’ll get to stand in line behind the gaggle of Mesoamerican peasants, which now dominate the consumption of American social services to an unbelievable degree.

And just in case the whole plan to insure those 25 million++ illegals doesn’t work out, well not to worry.

The United States Congress is going to assault the American people with Round 3 of “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” in due course.

The whole plan is to legalize and insure these 25 million peasant on the backs of the American people.

It is the end of American society and the American polity.

Old mostly white folks overwhelmingly vote conservative so 0 needs to kill them off with restricted medical care (that would be wasted in the ingrates). Get the free medical to the illegals and encourage their illegal immigration as they can generally be counted upon to vote socialist, for the free stuff.

It’s all a part of the 0’zer’s 4-year-plan (it will become a 7-year-plan once the constitution is no longer in force and the election cycle becomes a non-issue).

Socialized medicine is a latchkey issue for 0. It’s a flood-gate opener.

I believe that “7 million” number for illegals to be totally bogus.

I have seen a professional, financial industry analysis of the remittances made to Mexico and Central America over the last decade, and the data indicates not “7 million” but rather 25 million illegal aliens.

Simple anecdote and observation seem to support the larger number.

I am getting those figures from the Center for Immigration studies that bases its estimates on the Census Bureau. Admittedly it is conservative and underestimates the numbers,

We have 40 million foreign born in this country. I assume that some remittances are made by people who are legally here as well. I would be interested in receiving the data you cited. I am part of grassroots immigration group that lobbies on the Hill and in Richmond. Any ammo would be gratefully received.

I didn’t mean my earlier comment to in any manner impugn your credibility or intention. The “official” numbers are always low, even when CIS uses them.

As for the study I cited, I ran across it while Googling for some immigration question several weeks ago. It was a PDF and from some financial services group, but for the life of me I’ve looked for it several times since then and haven’t been able to find it again.

I might do another search if time permits in the next few days.

Thanks. The 2005 Bear-Stearns Report estimated 20 million illegals here.

CIS must use official USG data to maintain their credibility with Congress, since they are often asked to testify before committees. And they have to walk a fine line to keep their status as a non-partisan organization and tax deductible status for contributions.

It’s ALL ABOUT how we ask the question!!

We already KNOW there is no provision in there giving it to them. TELL them you’re not going to let the legislators make THAT the argument. What we need to let the legislators and all of America know is that the DEMS blatantly voted AGAINST checking citizenship status, therefore, illegal aliens CAN get access to health care.

would not require people who sign up for government health care programs to verify their eligibility
