Health Care Reform Bills Would Not Verify Citizenship Status Of Beneficiaries

The health care reform bills Congress is considering would not require people who sign up for government health care programs to verify their eligibility. That opens the door for millions of illegal aliens and other non-citizens to receive medical services paid for by taxpayers, a panel of experts from the conservative Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) and the Heritage Foundation said Wednesday.

Title II, Substitle C, Section 246 of the House health care bill (H.R. 3200) stipulates "no federal payment for undocumented aliens." The Senate Bill states that beneficiaries of federal health care programs must be a citizen or an alien lawfully admitted to the United States.

But neither bill has a provision for verifying citizenship status, according to these experts.

Gibbs, Obama and other Democrats are lying through their teeth.

They are putting up a smoke-screen by saying that both the Senate and House bill (H.R. 3200) would not give illegals tax-payer funded health care, and that illegals are specifically excluded.

BUT, the Dems purposefully left out the enforcement mechanism.

Dean Heller (R-Nevada) attempted to introduce an amendment to implement citizen verification in H3200, but it was rejected in committee.

But the dems are still going around saying that critics who allege that illegals will be covered are engaging in “falsehoods,” since the bill does not specifically call out coverage of illegal immigrants. Yet democrats deliberately blocked a measure to prevent them from receiving benefits.

I attended the presentation at the National Press Club. The reality is that we are importing poverty thru our legal immigration policies and our failure to secure our borders.

Oh but they will use the IRS to check on Americans Income. I did find it interesting that Illegals do not fall under this provision. (means they would have to pay income tax, no way. Employers of illegals id’d, no way)

1) Illegals dominate the unskilled labor pool in the USA, especially in construction (I rarely see a crew that’s not 100 percent Hispanic).

2) When I worked as a construction laborer in the late 70’s (like lots of other college kids), the standard rate was $6.00 to $8.00 per hour. The latter rate was the union rate in Washington, DC at the time, and remember that because I was on one federal construction job that paid union wages.

3) Crews in the late 70’s were typically a mix of college guys, rough guys, black and white, and got along pretty well. I don’t recall EVER, NOT ONCE working with someone who was not an English speaking American native. Illegals? Never. Ever.

4) Normalizing that $6.00 to $8.00 per hour wage rate using standard measures such as CPI, Average Wage Rate, and Inflation Rate all show that today’s wage for construction laborers “should” be from about $21.00 to $28.00 per hour.

5) My anecdotal understanding is that today’s dominant and ever-present workforce of peasant illegal aliens is paid from $10.00 to $16.00 per hour cash.

6) So it’s demonstrable and inarguable that the illegal peasant workforce has for the last 25 years been undercutting the wages of the American unskilled construction labor workforce of by about 50 percent.

Even if what King Barry says is true and illegals are specifically excluded AND assuming there is an enforcement mechanism for this (yeah right), Pres. Soetoro knows that SCOTUS will rule it unconstitutional to deny benefits to illegals. Therefore once all this tax sucking bureaucracy is in place, we'll HAVE to give illegals every benifit of free care that citizens get. This is especially true since La Raza now has a judge on the supreme court.
