Palin goes on attack after Emanuel's 'Complete Lives System'
The Hill's Blog Briefing ^ | 08/14/2009 | Michael O'Brien

@ 8:23 am by Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) praised a Senate committee's decision to drop an end-of-life provision from its healthcare reform bill, but continued to pound away at the overall bill — especially a proposal by Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel.

"It's gratifying that the voice of the people is getting through to Congress," Palin said in a new note on her Facebook page posted early Friday morning of the Senate Finance Committee's decision to drop end-of-life consultations from its health bill. (The Alaska politician had derided those consultations as "death panels" seeking to aid the euthanasia of the elderly.)

"However, that provision was not the only disturbing detail in this legislation; it was just one of the more obvious ones," Palin added.

Palin alleged that Emanuel, a White House healthcare adviser and brother of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, would advocate a "Complete Lives System," which "if enacted, would refuse to allocate medical resources to the elderly, the infirm, and the disabled who have less economic potential."

President Obama's silence on the Complete Lives System is troubling, the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate asserted, and called on the president to answer questions about the theory.

"Why the silence from the president on this aspect of his nationalization of health care? Does he agree with the 'Complete Lives System'?" Palin asked. "If not, then why is Dr. Emanuel his policy advisor? What is he advising the president on?"

The note marks the latest in a series of attacks Palin has launched on the president's heatlhcare reform proposals, and signals that while the conservative Republican had managed a small political victory over end-of-life care, she would continue to hammer away against Obama.

"We must stop and think or we may find ourselves losing even more of our freedoms," she wrote.

There’s an article in the NYTimes today crying about what Palin is doing. I say go after the Kenyan and the rest of the thugs. Turn about is fair play.

Thereby showing to everyone who has a functioning brain that SHE has more guts than 90% of Senators in either party.

You know, for all the talk about her running for President, she just might continue to be a good voice of opposition as a private citizen. She can collect funds, give to true conservatives, and be a voice of Reason against Hussein's communism...without the hassle of fake ethics complaints, etc.

A female Rush, perhaps?

The Emanuel brothers have become Obama’s twin Albatrosses, weighing down his administration like a dinghy anchored by two safes...I hope Obama will keep these modern day Rasputins around ‘til he is unceremoniously voted out of office...

Obama and friends already believe in "kill the babies" for absolutely reason.

I believe Alzheimer patients will be the first to get written off. I truly believe they will be slowly poisoned in every governement aided facility....which is pretty much all of them.

Senate Dems:

“There are no ‘death panels’ in the healthcare bill, so we’re going to drop the ‘death panels’ part of the healthcare bill”.

She’s not the female Rush,
or the female/next Reagan,
or the next Margaret Thatcher.

We’re looking at the first Sarah Palin.

The scumbag Dems will just reinstate it prior to the vote, just as Pelosi and Reid said they would.

Not to overstate the significance of the House pulling the Death Panel provision, but I belive this capitulation elevates Palin as a leading Republican voice and puts her in the position of frontrunner (I know its early). She leapfrogs Romney (conspicuously silent) who is going to have real issues on the issue of healthcare.

Palinize me, baby. Give ‘em hell.
People came out in force yesterday claiming that Dr Zeke didn’t advocate euthanasia. Well, he doesn’t. He doesn’t think that the dying patient has a right to ask for assisted suicide. He doesn’t want the patient to have that RIGHT.

This is far different than telling baby and Granny they can’t have resources because a 30 year illegal immigrant needs them and the resources are scarce.

How in the heck are we to pay for the millions of illegal aliens who are here now AND WHO WILL COME...not to mention the length of the line. Why should Grandpa and grandpa have to give up health care because Jose ran over the border one night.

This will be especially difficult as tax dollars dwindle due to retirement of the baby boomers AND loss of jobs.

I was talking to a friend who is in a city that has health care for the poor based on income. It is virtually impossible to get a dental appointment. They offer appts setting once a month at a certain time. You can’t get through on the phone and the appointments are gone very quickly. There are people who are in need of care and have been trying for months. It can take 6 weeks just to get an appointment to see the family Dr....which is really an intern or a PA.

This is the road we are going to go down.

All you need to do is look at the travesty of VA health care..and it will be worse once the nightmare is spread to every citizen in the US.

Useless eaters? You betcha

"committee's decision to drop an end-of-life provision from its healthcare reform bill, "

You know what they say about things removed from bills to assuage voters. They're always setting there ready to be put into another bill when the people aren't looking.
