Have you turned your man into a hermaphrodite?
Telegraph (U.K.) ^ | August 6, 2009 | Judith Woods

Posted on 08/06/2009 4:22:08 AM PDT by Schnucki

No longer sure of their role, "egalitarian" men have been left straddling the gender divide and are becoming male-female hybrids, says Judith Woods.

Take a long hard look at the man in your life. Yes him, the one lounging on the sofa, half-comatose in front of Midsomer Murders. Do you ever find yourself wishing he had a little more get-up-and-go, showed a bit more testosterone-fuelled drive, was – dare I say it – a touch more, you know, manly?

Is he passive rather than active? Does he leave most decision-making to you? Do you feel irritated that he happily fusses around in the kitchen when guests come for supper, but expects you to remember to take out the bins and fill the car with petrol?

If so, then chances are, you only have yourself to blame. A new survey by Oxford University has revealed that women are attracted to men they believe will help out with household chores and childcare. British men came third, after Swedes and Norwegians, in an international egalitarian index.

The survey concluded that our menfolk make the best husbands – which doesn't quite tally with the fact that 45 per cent of marriages end in divorce. But, according to a leading relationship coach, a great many relationship disasters stem from the fact that modern women are turning their husbands hermaphrodite.

No longer sure of their role, these "egalitarian" men have been left straddling the gender divide and are becoming male-female hybrids, in some cases displaying far more feminine characteristics than their partners.

"Some women have become ball-breakers," says Francine Kaye, known professionally as The Divorce Doctor, with an eponymous website. "It's not entirely our fault, because the demands of the workplace have changed us, and brought out our more masculine side. But unfortunately we're taking that

Sorry, but I call it self reliance. Typical day for me after work is some yard/outside work, some house chore and cook dinner. Because I get up before the wife and get home before the wife. She can help if she wants or not.

Either way the yard is clean, the car is maintained, repairs are done and the steak is rare. Beer or wine with dinner dear?

Probably a complaint heard from cavemen.

So if emasculation is the problem, what is the solution? According to Kaye, men grow in confidence – and manliness – when they receive the three As: Appreciation, Acknowledgement and Adoration. Women, on the other hand, crave the three Cs: to be Cherished, Complimented and Communicated with.

To get our relationships back on track, we women must try to rein in our control-freakery and rediscover our femininity, which will (theoretically) reawaken our partner's dormant masculinity. We must praise our partners, thank them for taking us out to dinner (even if we split the bill) and generally massage their tattered egos.

Nothing wrong with a husband polishing the stock on the wife’s shotgun or arranging her stock of ammo by caliber.

LOL!

My husband helps around the house...but I never ask or nag. If he feels like pitching in, fine. If he sees something that I haven't been able to get to and wants to do it, I have no complaints (I don't even complain about laundry that's gone straight from the dryer and been stuffed into a laundry basket.) And he doesn't complain if there's some household chore I haven't gotten around to because he knows I'll get it done eventually. (I guess that's how we've managed to stay married for 30 years, LOL.)

75% of the women in Texas initiate the divorce. They want it all but they don’t know what they want.

I’m going through three divorces at the moment. My son’s, my best female friend and my best friend. My son’s wife decided to go nuts. My best male buddy’s marriage just fell apart because she became fat and lazy. My female friend’s marriage stopped cold as if the husband ran away from home.

The female friend’s marriage probably fits this article. The guy is a coward. He’s on his third divorce. His entire family is filled with insanity, stupidity and homosexuality. The lady said she’s more than happy to get rid of the entire family tree. She’s happy they didn’t have kids. She’s a highly successful business women who came from poverty.

Now that women can live independently, marriage will never be the same. Men will have to adapt with the women’s new roles. They will have to understand just because women have become stronger, men don’t have to become weaker. That’s the misunderstanding. There can be two leaders in a marriage. Two strong people make a stronger marriage and partnership.

Ironic — 75% of monogamist marriages in Texas lead to divorce and the Texas government persecutes polygamists????

Great article! Thanks for posting. Some women do see what they have done to men. You reap what you sow.

My wife had long considered me the “Ultimate Chauvanist” until my son turned about 16....The student has now exceeded the master....

This actually happened, he came home from football one afternoon and told his older sister he was hungry, flipped her a large can of ravioli and stated “Make this for me woman” as he walked out of the kitchen.

Of course, the can nailed him square in the back as he walked out...(’ve raised some strong willed girls as well)

But....sniff......I’m proud of ya’ son......
