What is remarkable is that a society of Journalists, allegedly intending to honestly discuss complex issues, has forfeited their professed dispassionate indifference to the global warming issues in exchange for naked advocacy.
Now being discussed quietly around the world is the obvious widespread bullying on a global scale by the AGW lobby, who seem to be defending, quite unprofessionally, what they view as their own scientific turf and their entitlement programs, all of which are richly funded with billions of research dollars annually. This institutional bullying would seem to be fertile territory for the SEJ to investigate, but since its committed to the bullies in the first place, it cant.
************SNIP**********
The AGW lobby owns entire issues, including who gets funded, and who doesnt get funded, who gets published, who doesnt get published, who gets the acclaim, and who gets scorned.

Journalists, like scientists, who push the "correct" agenda, get promoted.
Dissenters don't. Instead, they are marginalized...or worse.

It is interesting that the largest recipients by far of funding is the AGW lobby, who receive billions annually from the government agencies, from foundations, and notably, Dr. Jim Hansen, who received $250,000 directly from an individual contributor. That's the problem. This has now become a huge global warming industry and it's gonna get bigger with all the subsidies and breaks Zero is doling out. With that much money at stake they will tenaciously defend their turf, regardless of the science and data.

That is true. We live in a day and age where the truth is irrelevant. It is about only saying what the ruling powers want you to say.
That has to stop.

All the more reason to push science over politics. Politicians are crooked my definition. Time to call them on it, regularly!

If the present cool spell lasts another decade or so public opinion will turn hard against these charlatans. It's already obvious to many CO2 does not drive climate change as concentrations increase and climate cools.

Not remarkable at all. They've always been lying scum, below even congresscritters, lawyers and even used-car salesmen (who can be honest at times). They're just lying more honestly now.
