Bill Clinton in N. Korea to free newswomen

Former President Bill Clinton arrived Tuesday in Pyongyang, North Korea, on a mission to free two U.S. journalists imprisoned there since March, North Korea's official news agency reported.

Mr. Clinton's trip was first reported by South Korea's Yonhap news agency. The State Department declined to comment, but diplomats indicated that the Yonhap report was correct.

The journalists, Laura Ling and Euna Lee, were arrested March 17 near the Chinese border with North Korea. They were on assignment for Current TV, a cable outlet co-founded by former Vice President Al Gore. Last month, they were sentenced to 12 years of hard labor for illegally crossing into the reclusive communist state.

Mr. Clinton's wife, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, has called for the release of the two "on humanitarian grounds" for months, saying the charges were baseless. On July 10, however, Mrs. Clinton abruptly changed her language, asking the North Korean regime for "amnesty" for the women.

News about Mr. Clinton's flight to Pyongyang on Monday came as Mrs. Clinton was flying to Africa on a seven-country tour.

And THEN what is Bubba going to do with them.

The flight home will be one big drunken Lewinsky.

Hopefully they will keep Bubba and set the girls free.

Although in my opinion these girls placed themselves in danger. The punishment they received is way out of proportion to the crime.

If there is ANY justice in the world, the NORKs will arrest Comrade Krinton, the first REAL American black president, on suspicion of spying and entering the country illegally.

When HitLIARy comes to negotiate his release, maybe they can share a cell after the NORKs arrest her as well!!!

I’m starting to LIKE this scenario!!!

Uhhhh...I’d say Al Gore plced them in danger. I’m certain they were taking orders and got the old “Don’t worry.....” before they did the deed.

It’s obvious why Bill was anxious to go. They are a couple of babes!

If Bill Clinton thought there was even a 1% chance he would score with a babe, he’d climb into a live volcano to rescue one.

I can only imagine what his quid pro quo will be from them for getting them out. One of them is easy on the eyes.

"....What does hillary think about having to send in a man to do her job?....."

After the verbal exchange between Herself and the Norks a couple of weeks ago, I think it is deliciously embarassing that Bill and not Herself is in North Korea on a diplomatic mission.

Secretary of State BILL Clinton.

There is a “this for that” anytime the Clintons are involved.

For the sake of those poor women, this is one I hope Bubba wins.

Except you just know it’s gonna cost us.

Kim Jung Il is dying. I’m not so sure he cares what N. Korea gets anymore. I think he would sacrifice the whole nation to go out in a bang.

You’re right, Bubba is VERY “Tah’rd”

I’m pretty tired of both him AND HER.

He, Madeline Albright, and Richardson, dealing unilaterally instead of with the neighboring countries, made an agreement with NK which gave NK millions of dollars and aid. NK in thanksgiving, promptly broke their end of the agreement and proceeded to build the nuclear bomb. Clinton was so magnanimous toward them they must love him - their hero.

They owe him a bunch.
