On Thursday night, the most powerful man on earth spent 55 minutes of his priceless time simply sharing a beer with a police officer from Cambridge, Massachusetts, and a Harvard professor.
This minutely orchestrated media event was designed to rescue Barack Obama from the most idiotic, yet nonetheless damaging, row of his presidency.
The American people are convulsed, not with laughter, because the story touches the obsessive issue of racism. It began a fortnight ago, when Professor Louis Gates locked himself out of his own house and set about breaking in.
A neighbour phoned police, reporting a suspected burglary. A police car arrived and an officer quizzed Gates. After an angry altercation, though the house owner proved his identity, he was arrested. Louis Gates is black. He accused the cop, who is white, of racism. The story made all the newspapers.
At a regular White House press conference last week, almost all the exchanges were about healthcare reform, until a reporter slipped in a final question about Gates.
Obama joked that he wondered what would happen if he tried to break into the White House. 'I guess this is my home now, so it wouldn't happen.' But at his old place back in Chicago: 'I'd get shot.'
Then he got serious. He said that African-Americans and Hispanics often find themselves victims of racial profiling. He acknowledged 'Skip' Gates was a personal friend and suggested the Cambridge police had 'acted stupidly'.
His remarks caused the roof to fall in. Argument has raged in the Press, on radio and TV shows about such a display of partisanship by the nation's leader on a contested policing issue.

THESE PEOPLE WHO INSIST THAT HE PROVE HE IS ELIGIBLE TO HOLD OFFICE, are not myth-believers. He has shown NOTHING which indicates that he is eligible. There are 2 huge lawsuits about to be fought over this issue.
THIS OBAMANATION is a COUNTERFEIT, he was vetted by pelosi who 1) lied about his eligibility because there was nothing, NOTHING presented to her to vet. SHe then turned around and became the most powerful person in America.... it's not the obamanation...all he does is get in front of every camera he can... it is pelosi who obama says is responsible for he TRILLIONS that was spent in January, the health care death to elders documents and the cap and trade.
SHE traded lies to get this obamanation in office and was rewarded by power.
America is on to this travesty and are sickened to the core that they were so gullible that they allowed this communist to take power. We are embarrassed because of him and pelosi and ashamed that the rest of the world has to know.

Obama never betrayed me, I always knew what Obama was all about.
Obama was headed south in the polls even before the Gates incident. The first to abandon BHO were wealthy Democrats for obvious reasons. Then the first of the young voters that started to realize that it was they that would be paying the tax bills to pay for the present profligate spending lturned. Many of the voters that were disappointed in BHO because that thought that he was going to put racism to rest rather than inflame it had already left (and many had not).

I'm Hispanic and I've never been racially profiled by a cop.
Obama spoke that line so he could continue to pretend to be the great champion for minorities and the great washer away of guilt for whites. In reality, no one except perhaps Muslims and inner-city lower-class blacks will reap any benefits from Obama's policies. Whites, Hispanics, Asians, American Indians, and middle-class blacks are all going to get screwed.
