Did ya’ll know that they are purposely destroying the motors of these clunkers so they can NEVER be used again. Total waste. It hurts my head to think about it. No way would I sell my soul to the .gov destroyers. I could not believe it when I took in my truck to have a new motor(used) put in that this is what they are doing to these motors. Destroying them. They are NOT allowing the old motors to be resold.

Well, duh. The whole idea behind this program is to remove inefficient engines from the roads, for good. It may be a f*ed up deal, but it would make no sense whatsoever NOT to destroy the engines. Put them back out there and defeat the purpose of the whole thing.

I read about a local man yesterday who traded his 89 S-10 with 38,000 original miles in. I wanted to go kick his butt.

Yeah, our dealer told us they have to put salt water in the engine, and have it towed to a special “green” auto recycling center. My 95 was dead ( brakes etc were going to cost 2500+ to fix so I got rid of it) but the engine probably had another 50 to 100k on it.

They are NOT allowing the old motors to be resold.

Like the gun buyback programs, and the new laws preventing you from reloading ammo casings.

They are even trying to prevent a person from selling their house at a profit by requiring unreasonable energy upgrades.

Whatever happened to selling "as-is"? Whatever happened to the freedom to conduct your own business as you see fit and can afford?

They are quickly trying to price a normal affordable lifestyle out of reach of most middle class people.

They are effectively trying to push the middle class into a new higher income poverty class.
