British pensioners among Europe's poorest (where America's seniors are headed)
UK Telegraph ^ | 7-26-2009 | Holly Watt

Almost a third of British pensioners face poverty, the same level as that found in Lithuania, according to European Union statistics. Pensioner poverty in Britain is more than a third higher than the European average.

Pensioners, many of who rely on income from savings accounts, have been particularly badly hit by sharp falls in interest rates. Stockmarket falls have also reduced the value of pension schemes.

How is this connected? The Labour Party or leftists in the UK have been cutting back everything for old indigenous British people while providing lavish welfare and other benefits to "asylum seekers" which are like our illegal aliens. People from third world countries including many Islamic and African countries receive lavish benefits. Hate spewing iman and terrorist Abu Hamza lived in a $500,000 home and his family including wife and many kids got about $180,000 a year in benefits in addition to the free housing. A free mansion like Mr. Gates, Obama's racist Harvard pal.

Seniors in the UK are also experiencing health rationing and are getting subtle encouragement that when their time grows near that euthanasia may be an option. There have been examples of elderly WW2 era pensioners freezing to death during the winter because they could not afford heat and they do not complain. WW 2 blitz mentality.

This may be the future of American seniors because O does not need their votes. Poverty, healthcare rationing, less political power, etc.

I have seen creepy similarities in what the left has done in the UK over the past 10+ years and where the racist muslim is heading.

The UK privatized much of its government pension schemes. We need to do the same thing with SS, which will go into the red in 2016. SS is a Ponzi scheme.

Sounds like the government workers here in states. They have to live on a low salary for thirty years and then only gets up to 80 percent of their pay during retirement years. Oh and no Social Security either. The civilian fat cats are living it up as always.

So if I’m understanding you right, your saying government workers here are underpaid and their pension isn’t generous enough?

"Sounds like the government workers here in states. They have to live on a low salary for thirty years and then only gets up to 80 percent of their pay during retirement years."

Their demotions through the coming defaults will be tough for them then. As they push for more spending, we're not buying.
