WASHINGTON Dissension among Democrats flared anew on Friday as a top House Democrat threatened to bypass his own committee to speed passage of a bill to provide health insurance for tens of millions of Americans. But by the end of the day, Democrats said they were trying to patch up their differences.
The threat by the Democrat, Representative Henry A. Waxman of California, came on a day of fast-paced developments that laid bare tensions between liberal House Democratic leaders and fiscally conservative Democrats in the House Blue Dog Coalition.
For President Obama, the turmoil in the House represented just one cycle in what promises to be a long legislative roller coaster ride. But the days events suggested that House Democratic leaders, having temporarily lost control of one of the most powerful committees in Congress, might have to make significant concessions to secure passage of the legislation, the centerpiece of Mr. Obamas domestic agenda.
The president met at the White House on Friday with the Senate Democratic leader, Harry Reid of Nevada, and the Finance Committee chairman, Max Baucus, Democrat of Montana, to assess the outlook for the bill in the Senate. Mr. Reid said Thursday that the Senate could not meet Mr. Obamas goal of approving the bill before its August recess.
Republicans, who strenuously oppose the health care legislation, marveled at the spectacle of disarray among Democrats.

I don't believe there's a divide just a skillful and evil way to provide cover for Blue Dogs when they vote for Obamacare. It's a done deal. Bank on it.

From the article; “One African-American Democrat, Representative Hank Johnson of Georgia, pointed out that the seven Blue Dog Democrats holding up the health care bill in the Energy and Commerce Committee were a nondiverse group of white men.”
Stupidity; The gift that keeps on giving.
So now we know what the marching orders are from on high! So on the next news cycle this idiot will be “recalibrating” his words as well.

Most of these "blue dogs" (an insult to dogs IMO) voted for the Pork bill when push came to shove. They will do the same for national socialist health care too.

Here we go with the RACE CRAP. ENOUGH of this! Folks Obama showed his radical roots with his comments on the police handling the Gates incident “stupidly”.
White people are open game and minorities are not to respect authority of any kind.
Get ready!

So on the next news cycle this idiot [Rep. Hank Johnson]
will be recalibrating his words as well.Doubtful. Most liberal blacks come from districts in which re-election is a near certainty regardless of what they do.

So what does this tell us? It tells us that the Black Caucus is totally in the bag for Obama. And, well they might be, since his black racist approval rating is 97% as of the last Rasmussen poll internals.
