2JS — Please ping the Oklahoma list so they can get a laugh as well.
The inhofe jokes about Hillary have been heard by anyone that attends where he is speaking. Now he is part of the oversight of the State Department and countries like Honduras and Israel will have a friend on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. He is going to shake that committee up IMHO! :)
Oklahoma Senator strikes again! I can see the ash trays flying by Ms. Clinton now when she gets the news. I can also see the smirk on Sen McConnell’s face as he made the announcement.
This is the man who, on Neil Bortz (sp?) today, said that the Republicans would “do the best they could”! Boy, am I reassured with statements like that, Senator Inhofe! NOT!
Probably one of the best US senators. I hope he makes her miserable,.
Hillary had her head handed to her by China and India over Global Warning. Senator Imhofe will be all over this.
Senator Inhofe is a very brave man - remember his incident while in flight????? I am convinced that was the Clinton goon squad at work trying to cause his plane to crash and get rid of him once and for all.
He needs to be very careful, stay safe, and don’t fly those planes during this time of crisis!
Thank God for him, though.....May God keep him safe and keep his courage and insight and voice strong.
That’s how Jim Inhofe talks all the while having the votes in his hip pocket. He has been doing that for years. He never counts his chickens before they are hatched in public but he has been defeating versions of Cap and Trade since the 90’s when he took over the Senate seat of David Boren.
He is one of the smarter men I know in politics and knows how to round up votes and get what he wants even in the minority status.
Don’t ever underestimate Jim Inhofe.
He was coming from Tulsa to an event I was at when the propeller just fell off. Now he parks his plane, and the plane is checked by ANG troops in Tulsa — he sticks to military installations where love him. Quite a pilot to have glided his plane in safely.
Like you I would bet it was the Clinton Goon Squad.
First thing that went through my mind when I saw the announcement was an ash tray flying through the air.
I don’t know much about the guy, but he sure didn’t inspire confidence in me with that wimpy reply. What ever happened to a fighting spirit to inspire and reassure the constituents?? To paraphrase what Bortz said, would you keep a go-to guy in your employ who used that phrase? I’m just saying he could choose his words a little more carefully. I hope he does whoop the _residents behind on health care.
The last time I heard him here he was on fire back in Oklahoma.
“I dont know much about the guy, but he sure didnt inspire confidence in me with that wimpy reply.”
Perhaps that’s the only time you ever bothered to listen to Jim Inhofe. He is the only, consistent conservative in the Senate and can fight.
He did one of the bravest things I ever witnessed during a special order speech when he was in the House of Reps.in 1993. He proposed dismantling the decades old secret discharge petition. He’s trying to do the same in the Senate...no, the alphabet networks will never tell you what a good man like this does dutifully every day.
The democrats in charge informed him they would run him out of congress if he tried. So he got the WSJ to publish the names of those who opposed him. Some of us got on radio and informed the public to help him. He got the job done. And that’s not the only time. He’s the one who speaks out and writes good, common sense, simple legislation to try to correct this mess..on global warming, on immigration, and much more.
[snip]Originally, signatories to a discharge petition were secret. Only once the petition acquired a majority would the clerk announce who signed. In 1993, the procedure was changed to make it public at every step of the process, with signers published in the Congressional Record
This change was spearheaded by Jim Inhofe

Excellent. He is on the side of the good and the righteous.
After 2010, he can be chairman should he so desire.
Jim Inhofe has the heart of a warrior.
He is one of the best elected representative we have, and there are very few.

BTT!
I have watched the Senate for years now and it can be a very painful and discouraging experience.
Inhofe never, ever disappoints. He is an honest man...such a rarity. And on top of that, he’s really smart.
HUH? Sorry, not everybody can listen to everything everybody says! Maybe you didn't bother to read my complete post! I simply said perhaps he should choose his words more carefully. Don't mistake dissatisfaction with his choice of words in this instance for dismissal of everything else he might stand/fight for. I learn a lot from FReepers like you who do have the complete 411.
I am ready to see Inhofe as Chairman of Environment and Public Works to drive the RATs NUTS.
OH wow.....yes he is / was / is quite a pilot! Good to know he has taken appropriate precautions.
Sen. Inhoffe - we need so many more like him.
My favorite Senator. Go, Jim!!
