Not so fast. A group of clergy has jumped to the conclusion that Taco Bell is a big, bad company for firing more than two dozen Hispanic employees in Madison and Sun Prairie. The firings followed discrepancies with the workers' Social Security numbers. "It troubles us on a moral level if hard-working people are being treated with such a lack of respect and dignity," states a June 20 letter from 16 local clergy to Greg Creed, president of Taco Bell Corp. The key word here is "if." Some facts are in dispute, and many others are unknown to the public.

Typical Catch-22 created by the government.
If as a business you hire Illegal Immigrants you are subjected to possible civil and criminal penalties and lawsuits.
If as a business upon learning your employees are illegal you are subject to EEOC lawsuits, liberal clergy group boycotts, civil penalties and fines.
This whole problem was created by Democrats and Republicans in Washington DC REFUSING to protect our national borders via enforcing immigration law already on the books.
My sister is one of those bleeding hearts who thinks everyone should have free access to America, all the perks, free health care, etc. WE OWE THEM.

If he is referring to the American citizens who have been treated with a lack of respect and dignity by getting screwed out of these jobs by illegal aliens who broke our laws to get here, and by the politicians who look the other way and wink as illegals flood across the border to scam the governnment and the employer by lying about who they are, to steal jobs from legal citizens and to steal taxpayer funded services from all of us then I agree with him.

When I first met my sweetie from Chicago, he was a hardcore flaming lib. NEA member! Obama supporter! Whole family of elitist libs: Harvard, Oxford, Stamford! University of Chicago!
I straightened him out. Took me 3+ years, but I did it. LOL It’s not easy, but it can be done.
Here’s what I did:
Don’t personalize his liberalism. None of this “you guys” or the “idiot lefties” or any of that stuff. I spent the first year and half starting sentences with “While I realize they meant well at the time....” then leveling my criticism. Libs are like children; they want acknowledgment that their hearts are in the right place. (which ironically why they initally such good partners!)
Bolster your case with email that includes mainstream sources that even they trust. Avoid the right wing blogs, but use their sources. Just yesterday, I sent my sweetie the NPR piece about the disaster in Venezuela regarding the redistribution of farmland.

Two reasons for this. First off, they trust it and secondly, it’s a source they can forward to their fellow leftwing nutjobs. And you’ll battle them, trust me.
Be gentle and nice, but resolute. You’ll get there.

Don’t get mad. Be a happy warrior for conservatism. One thing I’ve learned about this bunch is this:

In other words, many of your patiently explained conservative notions will be heard to his ears for the very first time. This is why you have to be ready with calm facts. The schools HAVE turned out nothing but liberal-speak; so what you say will be strange to him.
My sweetie never knew, until I demonstrated it to him, that Republicans were formed as an anti-slavery party. THE party to fight for civil rights.... for 140 years running. He has a masters degree and never knew such a thing. You think they taught him that at the U of Chicago? LOL
Just tonight, I had to inform him of Walter Cronkite’s sad record of participating in our loss in Vietnam. He never heard that either. I was ready, with facts and information.

wOW, THAT was a good video. How old was it? The people appeared to be dressed like in the early 90’s, so I wondered if it was older footage. If so, i wonder if we are growing like the chart or if it has actually gotten worse.

We walk to the beach, and cover every subject imaginable. I use the same tactics that you use: "Well, the Community Reinvestment Act was passed with good intentions,but...".
I also get away with criticizing Obama by praising Hillary, and saying that Hillary had the nomination stolen from her. LOL.
Even though she's a Democrat, she's actually quite conservative. It's just that they are so programmed (like robots) to support the Dems. Frustrating.
