Look, he may have been a Liberal personally, but he was objective on the air, and there isn’t a one amongst us here would wouldn’t rather have Uncle Walter back in the air chair than the “bag of air” named Couric. Or Rather or Gibson or Matthews, etc ad nauseum.
He was the last of a breed of journalists that lived up to the standards of the profession, and that’s the way it was.
