Didn’t this happen last year? Is this an old article?

The Iranians have sent chemical weapons to their allies in the past and they have been used in Africa.

Yes ans the story of what had happened to the ship got “lost somehow”...probably with the banking issues and the election, no one knows what was the ultimate out-come!

I have been trying to figure out WHAT happened to THIS ship and its CARGO. We all read about it and all of a sudden the story fell off the map. Not a thing since. The idiots opened the cargo up to see what booty they got.....Surprise!

If anyone has the whereabouts I’d like to know. Supposedly it was intended to be part of a radialogical bomb when set off along the coast of Israel.

As I say...storys about it have been scarce indeed.

But don’t worry, I fully expect Senator Hatch or somebody to make a big stink about this on Capitol Hill, and then express outrage on Sean Hannity’s show sometime in the next week. Boy, that’ll show ‘em. And for all of us, quick, send faxes to our Congressmen. And emails. Let’s go. Yeahhhhhhh!

Either way, it would represent a major contamination situation.

This would be a danger to anyone on board the ship, and would require specialists to clean, if a cleanup is even possible. It is likely that the ship would be lost if a spill occurred.

I have doubts as to the validity of this story. Chemical weapons are stored and shipped in special containers, and not very easy to open. Probably impossible to open without special tools, not available on the ship. Radiological substances are also stored in special lead lined casks, and just to move them requires a crane. Only explosives could pierce these containers. Bullets would just bounce off.

I don’t believe it.

I am somehow doubting this story because oft the crew. Wouldn’t they be affected, too?

I beliee that this ship was to transit the Suez Canal and then be blown up a few miles off the coast of Israel. The radioactive cloud would have impacted the coast. This was the story, and I have never seen it repudiated.

apparent skin burns and lost hair

Sounds like mustard gas.

It was probably a blister agent if the skin was burned. Could've been Lewisite, phosgene oxime, or phenyldichlorarsine as well.

The hair loss kinda sounds like radiation poisoning though.

News reports on this have been quietly disappearing over the past year. Seems google search has a “1984” element/faction at work. Google search the vessel name: M/V Iran....
Missing now are the stories of the numbers of dead, and disposition.. Story Drudge won’t touch.

WMD indeed. A smoking deadly gun, no takers?

It’s good for Iran that Obama is Muslim.

That was my thought, this sounds like a reaction to nuclear weapons not chemical weapons.
