After marching through several blocks of downtown Washington, more than 200 people rallied in front of the White House. They shouted demands for President Obama and leaders of other countries to "reject the sham elections, impose complete sanctions."
They also shouted "death to Ahmadinejad," referring to the Iranian president whose disputed June 12 re-election prompted days of street protests in Iran. Some carried pictures of Neda Agha Soltan, a young woman who bled to death in a Tehran street. She became a symbol of the post-election protest movement after videos of her death by gunfire were posted online.

Although I privately support their cause, I like many others remember their obnoxious protests here in the late ‘70’s before the overthrow of the Shah.
So what is an "American"? Do they exist?
“Iranian-Americans”
In this context, I think saying Iranian-Americans in order to distinguish their heritage & connection to their protest, is appropriate.
I don’t have a problem with the terms Italian-American or Irish-American when talking about Columbus Day or St. Patrick’s Day parades. Do you?
Unbelievable.
Yep. I was shocking to hear. The young man was on Fox news talking about how Obama had handled this perfectly. I audibly groaned while I was listening.
“The young man was on Fox news talking about how Obama had handled this perfectly.”
I missed it. There was a young Iranian on FOX who said Obama handled the protests in Iran perfectly? Was he supposedly one of the people who demonstrated outside the White House? Doesn’t make sense.
Google the term ‘astroturfing’. It is an Axelrod finesse which is used to convey the specious notion of ‘a good thing’ ... Axelrod knows how to manipulate the sheeple to a tea. He constructs a false scenario of praise and thankfulness, to change the hope don’tchaknow.
He was speaking about the protests in front of the White House. He stated that Obama is a hero with the Iranian youth. He is considered one of them and his name has great significance in Iranian culture. He said the youth are expecting him to help them because he is one of them. It was sad to watch.
shut up, go home, fight
