It's Getting Cold Out There
Rasmussen ^ | July 12, 2009 | by Debra J. Saunders

No wonder skeptics consider the left's belief in man-made global warming as akin to a fad religion -- last week in Italy, G8 leaders pledged to not allow the Earth's temperature to rise more than 3.6 degrees Fahrenheit.

For its next act, the G8 can part the Red Sea.

While Obama was in Italy preaching big cuts in U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, he was losing some of his flock in Washington. The House may have passed the 1,200-page cap-and-trade bill largely unread, but Senate Democrats are combing the fine print and not liking what they see. As Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., said of the bill, "We need to be a leader in the world but we don't want to be a sucker."

Republicans who oppose the legislation are positively gleeful.

[but Senate Democrats are combing the fine print and not liking what they see.]

They can read? I thought they all were lock step fascist zealots who hate God, family and country and led by their father, the devil.

I had to dig out an extra cover last night because I was cold. Partly I think it was just me, but...in July?

I’m not complaining, though - the break on the cost of electricity has been wonderful.

"Republicans who oppose the legislation are positively gleeful."

Corpses grin too, and for much the same reason.

78 with a heat index of 83, should hit 95 with HI of around 107-110.

We’ve had one of the hottest Junes in several years. The Bermuda high has done gone and slid down to the Gulf of Mexico.

That’s why y’all are cool and we are hot, but the good news is, if this pattern persists, NO ATLANTIC HURRICANES!

:-)

Have any of the geniuses in Obama’s corps of best science proposed building a huge jet engine to move earth to an orbit further from the sun?

Here in SC the last couple weeks have seen temps in the 70’s and 80’s some days, down to mid 60’s at night even. This is way out of whack. Usually we are baking in the upper 90’s throughout from late June through August.

A real global number for the "perfect temperature" for any one time in the future is an absolute impossibility.

It's kinda like all of us having a cholesterol count of 120.00000 in the year 2050 if we all follow their criteria.

I hope she has the same response to Obamacare.

One of the features of warmer winters in these parts are bumper crops of bees, wasps and gigantic mosquitoes the following summer. For the second summer in a row, I've seen, what, one wasp total, only a handful of bees and all of the honey variety, and the mosquitoes are not nearly as thick.

That with the peach ripening schedule getting all out of whack last year and some of us missing our favorite preserves varieties because they ripened so late (and so small) due to a really cold spring - yeah, I'm not sold. We didn't even turn the AC on for good until mid-June. That just doesn't happen here.

It's very arrogant, actually, to think that humans have such significant control over the earth's temperature. I guess these guys don't read much in the way of history or they'd think it's a bunch of bunk, too.

If taxes weren’t so high in Michigan, starting a business of building greenhouses would probably be a great idea.

On the other hand, there might even be some tax breaks for a business like that.
