While attending a black fraternity party, I recently learned its a bad idea to profess ones affinity for Glenn Beck, Bill OReilly, Rush Limbaugh, and Sean Hannity...

Way to go, Jerome! Don’t lose faith. Hang tough, young man. You are an inspiration to your generation—and all Americans.
Keep fighting the good fight!
This gives me hope...and not the kind of “hope” Obama peddles. REAL hope.
What a wonderful, intelligent, BRAVE young man. Two thumbs up.

“and your grandparents were as well”
oh snap!
Great zinger line.

Jerome Hudson and those like him are fighting the good fight. Too bad a few unthinking Republicans like a couple of “comedians” in South Carolina and Tennessee aren’t helping him and are supplying ammunition to his adversaries.

I get the same treatment from my relatives. For example, during family gatherings, there invariably is the political conversation that springs up and, despite glares from my wife not to start a rumble, I have to say something in defense of conservatism.
What’s both funny and sad at the same time is despite a laundry list of facts, it’s like “Don’t confuse me with the facts!” That’s when the insults come out and they shut down.
I get sick and tired of the “Plantation Mentality” of too many Blacks who vote Democrat just before they are Democrats. I have been branded “crazy” or a “Tom” by some Blacks, but I’m at the point that I don’t care.
I used to have the same mindset as most of my relatives. I even got an award from my alma mater’s Black Student Organization for “Community Organizing!” What a hoot! Thank God people can change!
Reminds me of a 60’s era New Yorker cartoon. A young man is scolding a small child.
The text is: I am your uncle, And my name is Tom.
But don’t call me Uncle Tom!
Jerome = Real change we can believe in!
It has some good conservative Christian views; Star, Dr Sowell and many others.
People don’t know their history.
They don’t know Martin Luther King. They don’t know Frederick Douglass. They don’t read The Constitution of the United States of America.
And they don’t promote http://www.nationalblackrepublicans.com/ or http://www.nbra.info/
Have you read Jason Whitlock’s essay about Steve McNair? Bill Cosby is not alone in calling for real responsibility in African American communities.
No I haven’t. I would like to. Do you have a link?
Been there, done that.
I've been branded as a traitor by family and friends. They think and have said when it comes to politics I am "out there". When I ask them on what they base that statement all they can provide is that I vote Republican, something I have done since I worked on President Reagan's first campaign.
The sad part is they are conservative and they know it. They hate high taxes, they disapprove of both abortion and homosexuality, they have religion and they beleive in a strong national defense. So why do they vote democRAT? Because the media tells them to. The media tells them being a Republican is a terrible thing. Basically, they are intellectual cowards who are too lazy to investigate and make a decisions based on fact. The democRAT party relies on that, without it, it would never get their vote.
