Even before I knew of Franken’s political leanings, I never found him that funny.
Occasionally, he’d hit a home run humor-wise. But most of his stuff was and remains un-funny.

My homestate has really stepped in it this time. We just elected a foul-mouthed, ultra-liberal, thieving carpet-bagger to the US Senate.
Norm Coleman really should be ashamed of his loss. Even in a leaning Dem state like ours, Coleman should have won this race by 5-10 points. It shouldn’t have been close.
His term as a Senator was one of limited visibility. He was reluctant to take a stand on anything because he feared offending just about anyone. he loved the behind the scenes elbow-rubbing and favor-trading that many of us have come to hate in DC.
His campaign was absolute crap. His main slogan (un-officially) was “Vote for me! I’m not Al Franken!”.
He voted against drilling in ANWR and he voted in favor of the first round bail-outs. Franken ain't the right replacement, but he did need replacing!
