Give us about 8 years under Obama. We’ll be right behind them. Slash defense to the bone to pay for national health care. It will make our Chinese masters very happy.

Nationalized / socialized healthcare necessarily leads to gutting your defenses. The same will happen to the U.S. if we succumb to the Dem effort to take over healthcare. Only the world will lose its policeman and, as a result, we will have wars all over the world, perhaps in Europe again.

So long Brits. Enjoy your new home on the third tier, and say hello to the Italians for me.

I would bet it would be cheaper for them to pay me to grope guide them to their destinations than to give them free "shoes". I will work very cheap at the right job.

To quote radio hosts Tom Liddy and Austin Hill back from their days on KFYI 550 AM in Phoenix, in their "PC Fridays" segment:

"Tolerance. Acceptance. Diversity."

I was going to go back and add Canada, but they're still so loyal to the Queen and don't seem to have the same degree of anti-English pissyness (not a word). Except, I know, for Quebec. Too complicated.

But, yes, Canada too.

It worked out better for us than it will for Wales.

Ukraine? What a stupid analogy.

And if you think that all the independent parts of Great Britain are better off than they would be as part of the greatest empire of the past three hundred years, you need to spend some time in India or Sri Lanka or Pakistan. Cesspools. None of them would be Third World countries today if they had remained part of GB. The hygiene alone would have been worth it.

You didn't list India, Sri Lanka, or Pakistan originally. You listed Ireland, Australia, Scotland, etc. Please explain to me what is the problem with the latter countries, rather than the former.

And your "point," as far as I could tell, was that it was better to be part of a powerful empire (and thus "relevant") than an independent nation. Ukraine fits that assertion quite well. As do most of the former Soviet bloc countries.

I think they better rethink this strategy, as we are nutering our armed forces and won’t be able to defend, nor will Bozo have the will to defend, the free peoples of the world any longer. Maybe the hope of the world will lie with India, maybe they will be the next great free nation that keeps the rest of the world straight, because sure as the sunrise we aren’t going to be there for another 3.5 years at least.

Post #32 nutering should read neutering(maybe a little Freudian slip there). Sorry.

Actually with India’s rapidly growing economy, they could buy the UK within my children’s lifetime.

As the Limey Poofters get overrun by Muslims and Sharia Law.

According to the CIA World Factbook, the demographics of the UK are as follows:

white (of which English 83.6%, Scottish 8.6%, Welsh 4.9%, Northern Irish 2.9%) 92.1%, black 2%, Indian 1.8%, Pakistani 1.3%, mixed 1.2%, other 1.6%

There are a few neighborhoods in some cities with large Muslim populations, but you can go through large swathes of the UK without seeing more than a handful of non-white faces.

Expeditionary forces are expensive, so I’m not surprised that people are suggesting this type of thing.

Realsitically, there are only a handful of nations in the world that can afford to maintain large expeditionary forces, and even fewer that need them.

But when you get off the plane, it still smells like poop. And the only beautiful things standing are the gorgeous, old, colonial buildings...covered in black mold.

I never quite understood Anglophilia amongst a nation that kicked the Poms out in 1781. Count me in as one who cheers the death of imperial Britain, and looks forward to Scottish and Welsh Republics. :)

The Empire had its day, but the sun set a long time ago. Like pining for the Assyrian Empire among members of a certain ethnic group.

Being a Scot, i might agree if it had come about naturally, to the benefit of all and not just as a way for the home-grown Marxists to destroy a great power, strip her of her great history and allow the wogs to swallow her up.

I'm ashamed of my people and the deliberate, short-sighted destruction of the UK. Can't wait to see how that great socialist Scottish economy thrives the next few years. And Wales will get crushed like a grape.
