I got through on the above number. A young man told me he was unaware of Rep. Doggett’s position. He said that earlier today he was against the bill, but it might have changed.
I asked if he knew whether the Rep. had read the bill. He replied yes he had (a lie). I asked if the Rep. had read the 3AM amendment. He stammered and said he didn’t know. I asked if he was aware that the bill was some 1200 pages. He just sat mute.
I then expressed my opinion and hung up.

CALL THEM!

I just called Doggett’s office. Let the nice gal know
as a fellow Texan (but not a native one) we don’t need more taxes in this nation. Thank you! Thank me!

His district is mostly South and SE Austin, which is liberal. Also runs west towards Dripping Springs which is conservative except for the suburban SUV liberals. His constituents further southeast are country and small town, with lots of sparsely settled areas and some areas where you can’t tell the shacks from the chicken coops.

I intend to do everything I possibly can to preclude the re-election of these folks. They are directly threatening my livelihood and that of many, many people I know.

If they're trying to make all of us lose our jobs, the least I can do is work to be sure they don't keep theirs.

“Anybody find out how much he was offered?”

My guess is a lot of wind farm projects and attorney fees for companies in Austin.

Just got through to Doggett. She said she hasn’t been able to get in touch with his DC office to find out his final decision but people have been calling saying he was on C-Span saying that ‘this bill should be supported’ even with the things that were wrong with it!

CALL HIS OFFICE!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!

Lliberal Lloyd din’t need any arm-twisting. He’s a tree-hugging baby-killing commie already. He probably just had some local pork he bartered to have added to the bill. Rep. Dogsh*t used to be my congressman until the 2000 redistricting.

Got through to his Austin number. Told girl I used to work for him, (it’s true, I did) and that I couldn’t believe it when I heard he’s changed his position on this.

Can you believe it? Edwards voted no on Cap and Trade! I’m shocked, but I think he knew his job was on the line if he voted for it.

Doggett won’t accept emails from anybody who isn’t a constituent. They go by addresses.
Here’s one:

1914 E 6th St
Austin, TX 78702

It’s in his district and is supposedly the location of the worst post office in Texas.
Enjoy.

I’m still angry with Tom Delay, who took it upon himself to redistrict TX. I have gone from having Ron Paul as my rep, to the very liberal Doggett!

Delay and them were out to get Paul. Truth will out, he’s still there, Delay is gone. I know Paul personally, and folks in my family a generation before me worked for him in his early days. I don’t agree with him exactly on everything, but there is no better man I’ve ever known.

Why can’t they just sit in their seats and vote without pressure from others...? I’m so angry about this!

You can't blame Democrats for trying to convince members they should vote for a bill. Pressure is part of politics.

I have met and spent time with Dr. Paul, also. Like you, I do think he's a very honorable man. He is a strict libertarian as I see it, and it's hard for a lot of us to fall in line with that---but, I think if we could, we'd probably be better off.

For sure it would be better than we have today!
