SULLIVANS ISLAND, S.C. — South Carolina first lady Jenny Sanford says she warned her husband not to see his mistress before a trip last week and was shocked he met her in Argentina anyway.
Jenny Sanford told The Associated Press that she discovered Gov. Mark Sanford's affair in January when she found a letter from him to the other woman. She said she told him to end the affair and he agreed to.
She said that when the governor told her recently he needed time alone to write, she specifically warned him not to visit the mistress. She was shocked to learn this week that he'd gone to Argentina to do just that.

He’s term limited after this term as governor, I strongly suspect he won’t seek office again.
Too bad, as he was a strong conservative, policy-wise. I hope SC will get as conservative an executive next time.

She needs to divorce him now. What a fool. Obama’s TSA thugs have videos on him in the airport that were leaked and the NSA, CIA or somebody got his emails. How dumb could this man be and he caused us a lot of damage.

I’m glad to see that Jenny Sanford is setting an example for her children by showing them strength and demonstrating the importance of her values. I’m equally glad that she wants to repair her marriage not only because she loves her husband but also because her boys need their father in their daily lives.
Jenny Sanford is admirable.

I’m just amazed at how naive this man is, he wanted to lead the war against terrorism but he seems to think that he can just drop out and fly to Argentina having no concept of how impossible it would be to conceal this all from his security and state officials and the media.
He left South Carolina not knowing that it was leaderless which would have wasted valuable time in an emergency while they established that he would not be findable, he was oblivious to kidnappings in South America and that foreign agents might already be keeping up with a potential president.
It is sure taking a long time for the media to put together anything related to the attractive 43 year old Argentinian woman, I hope that she doesn’t have any connection to any foreign intelligence agencies.
I agree with staying together for the kids
