Discretion? From Eric Holder? That just means RATs on the no-fly list will still be able to buy guns. Besides, being on that list just means there will be some extra checking before you can board the aircraft.
The only disqualifier for using that online list for background checks should be an automatic dispatch of the cops for anyone who shows up with a tag of past/present/escaped felon. The problem with government "watch lists" is that they're designed to scoop up almost anyone, but they're also designed to make corrections impossible, unless you can prove you're a prominent RAT. Look what they did to Joe the Plumber with just ordinary records the government keeps.
