SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. -- A Seminole County woman was expecting a new insurance card from Blue Cross, Blue Shield, but she got a lot more than that.
The woman said she received a box filled with hundreds of personal, private medical records for other people.
The brown box sitting on her front doorstep Friday morning, she said, didn't look too out of place. However, as soon as the Sanford woman opened it, she found stack after stack of people's private medical records that certainly weren't in the right place.

WHen I lived in NY, there was a woman with my name, and we had the same Dr......the receptionist sometimes had her folder out when I went there.....thank God we had different middle names.
My wife went to pick up her prescription and they gave her my brother’s prescription, we didn’t even know we used the same pharmacy. Same last name....close enough I suppose.
I’m guessing one of her neighbors is a Democrat party operative specializing in opposition research.
If they would hire people that could take direction and take their job seriously instead of say yacking away or having a cell phone glued to their ear (my opinion only); this may not have happened.
Good point.
I get orders for medical equipment for individuals faxed to me from time to time.
I used to contact the company who faxed them to tell them they had the wrong fax number. No one there cared, and they kept coming, so now I mail the fax to the individual listed on the fax along with a note.
Just wait until the gov takes control of our medical records. People will probably be able to log onto the internet and pull up anyones confidential information.
Smart man. It’s the only tactic that really gets their attention.
Twice, I got faxes of someone’s very personal medical records, both times from the same insurance company. The first time I called to inform them, I was casually told to destroy them. Of course, I did, but that insurance company had no way of knowing if I would or, in fact, did. Nor did they even ask for my name. The second time, I sent them with an explanatory note to lead counsel for the insurance firm, with CC to the insurance commission. Never heard a word from anyone. But never again got another errant fax from the insurance company, either.
Maybe a disgruntled employee decided to get even.
