Lahood thinks it's his business to decide to decide how many cars American families can own.

We need two car so we can both get to work and pay for all of Obama's grand plans. Does Lahood understand that cars and mass transit are complementary? Like many people, I drive to and from the train station.

Lahood thinks he’s still in the hood and in total of his turf, his homies, and his crib.

“Lahood thinks it’s his business..”

I’m sure he’s been given his marching orders from the “one” who now decides what you can eat, drink, drive ,smoke, how much energy a family may use, how much money a family may earn, what type of government healthcare one shoud use and when one can fart.

Mass transit seldom works, you idiots. It’s not efficient, convenient, and most of all, it’s not safe.

Maybe you want to ride with beggars, thugs, and other assorted lowlife but most people, especially solo women, say no thanks.

This is liberalism showing its true colors....ignorant of our nation’s history of wide open spaces and “go anywhere” attitude.

People like Lahood would like to see all Americans herded into population centers where they can use mass transit and the rest of the country would be deemed “off-limits” to humans except under special circumstances.

IF this is a true interview and IF the replies are accurate, here's the money quote;

What we’ve talked about is getting to a concept that we call livable communities, where people don’t have to get in a car every day.

LaHood is a tool from the Paving Contractors Assoc. of Illinois, the front group of rich thugs who payoff Illinois pols to build more roads thru more farmland so other rich thugs can build crappy chipboard palaces at the edge of exurbia whereas other thugs can ship section 8 Democrats out of chicago to live in taxpayer paid splendor. He is talking out of his backside to appease that sliver of a demographic of white clueless libs that bill themselves “New Urbanists” where everyone is a vegan bicyclist who frets all day about AGW.

I have three cars. One is a 20 y.o. Accord......great mileage. Another is an AstroVan. They both serve different purposes. The third is a “beater” pick up that we use as a kind of motorized wheelbarrow. We never even take it off the ranch.

Wondering which of the three Hussein would make me give up.

A. I think everybody will have an automobile. I think it’s amazing in America when you drive around and look at new homes that are being built, there are three-car garages. I don’t think you’re going to see families with three cars. I think you’re going to see families with one car, possibly two.

They actually have the nerve to reveal their intentions to single handedly revolutionize American society in a such way where they'll rid it of three-car garages and end families having multiple cars. We'll just herd everyone onto trains and buses, the rest can ride their bikes.

Never mind that such would be utterly impossible in a country with the size, infrastructure and societal dynamics of America, these megalomaniacs going to proclaim their inanity and go ahead with the clampdown regardless..

People argue over whether this admin is stupid, insane or evil. I say it's all three.

You can tell he's a poor little rich boy too ~ has everything done for him by hired help, or they hire a guy to "send it out".

He has no idea what a 3 car garage is really for ~ maybe 1 car, tops, but people have things to do things with and that's where they go.

Plus storage for bargains purchased as available for future use.

I think this fellow is in the wrong job at the wrong time in our history. Send him back to his castle.

This is typical of the liberal urbanite mentality.

"Well, no one really needs anything more than a subway train. Those people living in the sticks (Meaning anywhere outside a major city, including the Suburbs in some cases.) are living inefficiently. They should be forced to change their behavior."

This is because urban settings are things liberals understand. They are top down, centrally managed affairs. They are authoritarian by necessity. If a major change is desirable, then you simply impose it. Such places have large local economies that, to some degree, help insulate their rulers from the direct consequences of their actions.

There is a great divide between these people and those in outlying areas. All the latter will see here is a smirking Jimmy Carter, dressed in his stupid cardigan, making it more difficult and expensive for them to live and prosper.

I have even seen it postulated that the goal here is to drive people from outlying areas into large cities. To force them to immigrate.

I don't know if that is realistic, but one would certainly have to be forgiven for wondering. These people trot in with the expectation that living "efficiently" is the highest state and the goal of every American, thus they should simply conform and ape the urban population centers.

Living an efficient urban lifestyle is a moral imperative to them. They don't trouble themselves over things such as abortion, but their want to impose the urban lifestyle thing is effectively a religion unto itself. Dissent is heresy. Heresy is not allowed.

They are truly frightening people. Given enough rope, they're going to alienate many. The problem is the damage and havoc they will cause in the interim.

It's obvious these guys have never lived in a rural area in fly-over country. I live in a small city that is the “regional hub” for 13 rural counties. You have to drive an hour or two in any direction to reach a larger city. We have a “gubmint” funded RTA that drives empty buses around the city all day. We are too spread out, they could never have enough buses and routes to make it feasible for us to use them.
