You can tell he's a poor little rich boy too ~ has everything done for him by hired help, or they hire a guy to "send it out".

He has no idea what a 3 car garage is really for ~ maybe 1 car, tops, but people have things to do things with and that's where they go.

Plus storage for bargains purchased as available for future use.

I think this fellow is in the wrong job at the wrong time in our history. Send him back to his castle.

Somehow I don’t think this applies to his boss for some strange reason.

This is typical of the liberal urbanite mentality.

"Well, no one really needs anything more than a subway train. Those people living in the sticks (Meaning anywhere outside a major city, including the Suburbs in some cases.) are living inefficiently. They should be forced to change their behavior."

This is because urban settings are things liberals understand. They are top down, centrally managed affairs. They are authoritarian by necessity. If a major change is desirable, then you simply impose it. Such places have large local economies that, to some degree, help insulate their rulers from the direct consequences of their actions.

There is a great divide between these people and those in outlying areas. All the latter will see here is a smirking Jimmy Carter, dressed in his stupid cardigan, making it more difficult and expensive for them to live and prosper.

I have even seen it postulated that the goal here is to drive people from outlying areas into large cities. To force them to immigrate.

I don't know if that is realistic, but one would certainly have to be forgiven for wondering. These people trot in with the expectation that living "efficiently" is the highest state and the goal of every American, thus they should simply conform and ape the urban population centers.

Living an efficient urban lifestyle is a moral imperative to them. They don't trouble themselves over things such as abortion, but their want to impose the urban lifestyle thing is effectively a religion unto itself. Dissent is heresy. Heresy is not allowed.

They are truly frightening people. Given enough rope, they're going to alienate many. The problem is the damage and havoc they will cause in the interim.

Yup. Can’t have people like me living five miles from mass transit. Believe me, Santa Cruz County feels exactly that way. Whenever they find a chance they redtag mountain properties and won’t let anyone build on them. They want us out of the mountains, and down in the gas-powered flatlands.

Over my dead body.

Let’s go back and read all those pre-Nov 2008 posts about the two candidates being just the same...

I meant those many posts like that on FR pre-election and not your posts or mine, of course!

It's obvious these guys have never lived in a rural area in fly-over country. I live in a small city that is the “regional hub” for 13 rural counties. You have to drive an hour or two in any direction to reach a larger city. We have a “gubmint” funded RTA that drives empty buses around the city all day. We are too spread out, they could never have enough buses and routes to make it feasible for us to use them.

I don't think this is a real interview either. Dems never reveal their true plans. They have to lie to get elected.

What do you drive?
I have a 1998 Buick Regal here in Washington.

What kind of mileage does that get?
Terrible. Probably 15 or 16 miles per gallon. If I had a lot of money I wouldn’t be driving a 1998 Buick Regal. I’d be driving a more high-tech automobile.

And there it is in its very essence. "If I had a lot of money I wouldn’t be driving a 1998 Buick Regal". As they work relentlessly to dismantle our once-great society klowns like this depend on using economic terrorism to separate us from our vehicles. Instead of allowing the manufacturers to react to the needs of the marketplace, they are going to dictate to us what we "want", and ultimately what we are allowed.

This guy has no idea what it’s like to own vehicles
that are twenty years old or older, you have to have
a back up when one goes down.
I can’t take the Lexis to the dealer and pick up a loaner
for the week...

He probably Leases anyway.

I dare DaHood to come to my home and tell my wife she can’t own her minivan. I dare him to survive the wrath he will have to endure.

Right, is Jay Leno and the like going to give up his car collection? How about the other elites, like the Kennedys et al? Is there going to be one rule for the elites and another for “the little people”?

Yes. Just like the old Soviet Union.

I eagerly await the day when we have light rail and bus service in my town in the mountains of WV. As to the cycling, I will happily follow the Secretary up the 9%, 5 mile long grade that I make on my return from the county seat. Do as I say not as I do. Following laws is for the little people.

Fur shur he doesn’t go to the dealer. He suggests to his “man” that “the car was having problems” and it’s all taken care of without thought on his part.

Obvious bHo and his cohorts have never lived in rural America or even in a small bedroom community. How are folks who live a half hour away suppose to get to work? Grocery store?
