The protesters were reportedly upset that two Democratic senators decided to caucus with Republicans, a move that when finalized by the state Senate would hand Republicans control of it. Majority Democrats have shut down the chamber to prevent the transfer of power.

It sickens me that liberals always react to shut down things they don’t like. Remember when the Texas Democrats fled to Oklahoma and New Mexico to prevent redistricting legislation from passing? This year, they performed more stall tactics to kill the voter ID law that had passed the Senate. Yet they *always* get away with it. Let’s just see what would happen if Republicans walked out en masse to prevent Obama’s health care plan from passing. Do you think the media would look the other way like it does when Dems do this crap?

Republican Sen. George Winner of Elmira blamed Angelo Aponte, secretary of the Senate, for not preventing the protest. Winner said Aponte violated chamber rules by allowing it to go on. Republicans have already sought Aponte’s resignation, to no avail.
“Today’s disgraceful actions outside the Senate chamber were clearly sanctioned by Secretary of the Senate Angelo Aponte,” Winner said. “He put the well-being of staff and legislators in jeopardy by allowing a violent protest in a restricted area of the Senate lobby.”

I want to know where the state troopers assigned to the capitol were when this happened. I understand that our “wonderful” secretary of state allowed the ACORN folks in - when they would not have otherwise been welcomed into the “hallowed halls”.
