Gov. Sarah Palin and the Today show
Today Show ^

Posted on 06/12/2009 5:12:09 AM PDT by blueyon

Matt Lauer interviewed Gov Sarah Palin today. They talked about the gas pipe line and then got into the Letterman comment (from about the 4:00 minute mark). Sarah told it like it was when Lauer pressed her. Matt tried to excuse Letterman and Sarah said "he was naive" and then he really got interesting! Matt finally had to give in (even thou he tried to defend Letterman). Was great! REALLY WORTH LISTENING TO!

It was fun watching Lauer try to defend David Letterman and Sarah Palin kicking his ass on his inane comments.

Palin was on top of her game in this interview. From the pipeline, to Letterman, to the leader of the GOP, she was flawless.

Matt tried to excuse Letterman

Of course he did. I saw a small clip of him last night and first thing I thought was "Matt will make sure he's NOT on Gov. Palin's side on this thing".

Outstanding!!!! I love how she would not let him interupt or cut her off. She is plain-spoken and on the right track. The pipeline deal is a wonderful addition to the resume of accomplishments for this Governor. You go Sarah!!! I’m right there with you!

Matt asked some tough questions but they were fair enough. Our future President responded magnificently.

That's for sure and that's one of the big reasons the left hates her. They are constantly searching for "authenticity" on their side and finding nothing but lies and corruption. Sarah shows them the real thing and they have a stroke and try to make it go away.

I saw it. He tried to intimidate her and she responded by cleaning his clock. At the end of the interview he thanked her for being on the show, but I have to believe that he was thinking to himself .... “DAMN ! Why did I do that ?”

I hated to give MSNBC a ping to their website, but Governor Palin nailed Matt to the wall. He probably thought he would be able to make her look petty and small, “Not able to play with the big boys”. She kicked his butt and did it with charm and a smile.

She certainly is well-spoken. Few politicians today, IMO, perform well “off the cuff.” She can express a complicated thought without hemming and hawing and forgetting what she started out to say. Also, she has an obvious command of the subject (pipeline, in this case). Doesn’t talk too fast or too slow. Her talking points got conveyed fluently.
If this were gymnastics I’d give her a 10.

Sarah handled Matt Liar, errr, Lauer very skillfully.

I would not have been so finessed.

As Matt was asking his condescending questions, I realized he would never, EVER ask these questions in this manner about Barack Obama’s girls or any Dem politician’s girl.

Sarah was very objective and very strong and she spoke to the larger issues at hand about young girls.

She is President No. 45. We have to wreck the Dem agenda so that there is still a country for her to run in 2013.

It’s so refreshing to hear someone speak the truth on a number of topics.

I loved her comment when questioned whether she should get the right of first refusal for leadership of the party: “Oh, heck no! No one is entitled...”

I say, that’s all she has to do is be authentic, genuine, and speak from her core beliefs.

That is something no leftist can ever do. Their elitist, statist, authoritarian selves leak out once in a while anyway.

I believe Gov. Palin is actually having some fun taking on these nitwits and all their attacks and smears. She knows she’s the target and I’m seeing a good streak of actually not giving a damn like Cheney and hitting it right back in their faces. We need strength and she’s showing it and it cannot be said of the Washington variety of GOP and why they are in the pathetic shape they are against Demonrats.

Man did she kick his a$$....that was great. I worked as a campaign volunteer during the last election and I can tell you, the day after Sarah was put on the ticket we were inundated with folks coming in to see when we’d be getting bumper stickers, tshirts, yard signs, etc., with her name on it....people love this woman!

the verse goes... “I’d like to spit some beachnut in that dudes eyes and shoot him with my old 45” But the feeling is still the same. Mrs. Palin has been under constant attack by the lapdog Obamamedia since he won the election. She is dangerous to the demoncraps. She is also the most genuine public personality I have seen. I believe that Letterman Does owe an apology to ALL young women! It is good to see lapdogs like this idiot get trampled by honest to god truth!

Good interview - she did well!

The only thing is that she seems to talk a little fast, esp. when describing that Alaska natural gas project. She may need to slow it down a tad if she wants to go further next election cycle.

I love Sarah and would love to see her as president, but I doubt it will ever happen. Liberals fear and hate her and constantly make fun of her on tv. It's outrageous how feminists don't come to her defense.

And Matt was actually on his best behavior, or so it seemed to me. Then again, I think he knew she would chew him up and spit him out if he got too out of hand.

I honestly don’t know how anyone can dislike the obvious leadership in Palin.
