Savage: Vote Palin and get 4 more years of Obama
Heard on Savage Nation 06-09-09 | self

Posted on 06/10/2009 9:35:03 AM PDT by BornToBeAmerican

I listen to Doc Savage every now and again and agree with him most of the time.

BUT not this time. Last night he was on a rant over Sarah Palin and her possibly becoming the next US President.

He made it very clear of his disgust for her and said if Sarah got in, it would be for moree years of Obama.

How SO?????

Is not Alaska the only State in the Union that gives money back to its constituents. Has a much better Tax code and is doing everything to promote Alaska for the betterment of itself and the rest of the nation (read Gas pipeline for the lower 48) and more Drilling

This does not sound like Obama and any democrat that I know.

I am not sure what the Doc is on, but IMO he is way off base on this.

I listen to him; like most of what he says. I think he’s a bit PhD snobbish, but other than that he makes sense. He’s wrong about Palin but I doubt if many here would even know about her, if John McCain hadn’t have picked her.

I don’t know when this was from, but I heard him supporting her many times.

It was about two weeks after McCain picked her as his running mate. Just do a Google search Savage + Palin, and you’ll see all the stories about his rants against her.

Huh... The only time I learn anything about Savage is when there’s a thread about him at FR.
I guess I should be glad he’s not on in the Philly area.

Sorry folks. I agree with Savage. I don’t dislike like Palin, but I don’t think she could win. If she’s the nominee, we get Buttcrack all over again.

We need a tough, bad ass, conservative, no nonsense Reagan (or Thatcher)-like person. I couldn’t care less if male or female. So far, I don’t see Palin fitting that bill. I know she fits some of those qualities...I just don’t see her being that strong. In my opinion, that person has not emerged yet. We’d better find them tho......

Savage is passionate and sometimes comes unhinged...but he’s not stupid as some say.

Savage uses his callers to get talking points. If he disagrees with them, he hangs up. He has good points, as was said, about muslims but that’s about it. Not worth listening to. Although I some times listen while in the car but not that often.

Palin is not electable.

Her performance in the debate with Joe Bidet was deplorable. He kept lying and she would not call him on his obvious errors. She will get that deer in the headlights look if nominated by the Repubs, and will ensure another Obama term.

I like her, but she cannot win and therefore her nomination would be disastrous for our country.

I love Sarah Palin but happen to agree with Savage. There’s way too many idiot voters out there swayed by the lying media! GOP needs another horse for the race...we need Palin’s voice but i don’t think we win POTUS with her as candidate...Just MHO.

And if I cared what Savage had to say about anything, this might matter to me.

I agree - it’s just that when some people jumped up and asked why didn’t some talk show hosts back him up ... my answer was that he slammed them so he’s on his own at that point ....

She was too nice in that debate. I wanted to see her rip him apart.

Alaska only state that gives money to its citizens?? Isn’t that because of all the oil it exports — an arrangement set up long before Sarah came along?

Savage is a slimy jerk. That said, I’m afraid a stopped clock is right twice a day. I like Palin; I was happy when McCain picked her, I think she’s probably the only thing that kept the margin on election day relatively close, and it’s great to have her to speak out and give conservatives a figure to rally around. But I’m not very enthusiastic about her as a candidate in ‘12. She’s too polarizing a figure, too much of a celebrity, and I’d really prefer that voters weren’t reminded of the disaster of ‘08 when they’re deciding who to vote for in ‘12.

Thats not what Savage said (according to the OP). Savage said, if she GETS elected, well have more Obama.

I understand the point you're making (but I disagree), but I don't think any Freeper would equate Palin to Obama. Perhaps you meant otherwise.

If Republicans manage to find a leader that set fire to the conservatives the way Sarah did, do you think the media and the left will not do their damnedest to make that leader “too polarizing” to be electable?

Of course they’ll try. They won’t necessarily succeed, which they arguably already have with Palin.

. . . the press is already trying to rip her apart because they are AFRAID OF HER . . .

McCain cleaned ObaMao's clock in southwest Pennsylvania and Palin was the reason. This is NOT a girly man area of the country. Even a lot of the Democrats here are gunowners and hunters. They are also blue collar, union and Catholic, exactly the type of constituencies Republicans need to win to carry states like Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Take a good look at this website. Click on the bar marked "SWING". See how few blue counties there are in any state, much less the swing states. In the venacular of this website, a swing county is actually where the Republican ticket did better in 2008 than in 2004, thus so few of them. Study where Sarah Palin campaigned-- mainly in the blue counties of the swing states. Then come back and tell me she was a drag on the ticket.

She was the only thing which kept McCain (the real drag on the ticket) from being blown out!

"Thats not what Savage said (according to the OP). Savage said, if she GETS elected, well have more Obama."

That just doesn't make sense, even for Savage. Maybe the OP could clarify?

I did mean otherwise...that’s why I used the word “nominee”. If she’s the Repub choice, Obama will win...IMO.

If Savage said that “Palin = Obama”, I disagree with that.

In the venacular of this website, a blue swing county . . .

Important distinction and sorry for any confusion.
