This is the kind of news I always think of when I watch HGTV’s House Hunters International. They show these single women or soft retirees buying/moving to Central and South American countries and I always wonder—why, why, WHY would anyone, especially these people, think it’s a good idea to relocate to a place like that because it has a beautiful view? There are millions of beautiful views here in the States and 1)you speak the language, 2)no one will resent you for your American imperialism, 3)you’re not see as potential ransom material, 4)beheadings and Uzis aren’t particularly popular in the USA, 5)you’re a real citizen here with real rights, and 6)you can have access to a gun, ADT and EMTs.
Your comment on expatriates was right on the mark, although my quick comment was aimed more at transient tourism than expatriate retirees. I’ve seen or heard of mountain tropical Mexico and Costa Rica going from wonderful to suspect. At the moment, I hear good things about Panama, but once the easy pickings move in, the vultures follow.
I really have no idea why any tourist would want to go to that miserable hole of a country.
“Is this part of the all-inclusive pkg. at the resorts”
That is why they don’t have any thrill movies on pay per view in the hotels. If you want excitement you are instructed to take a walk around town.
15 gunmen and a soldier were killed in a two-hour shootout... the gunmen opened fire with assault rifles and about 50 grenades on soldiers who arrived at the house. The soldiers found four Guerrero state police officers inside the house who said they were being held captive by the gunmen. That's only one gunman every 8 minutes, big deal. Sound like the worst gunmen ever, btw. ;') Thanks geo.
sorry Mexico.....but you're destroying tourism ...
whatever happened to just a little pot smuggling and pig roasts back in the old days with the Falcon family in Monterey
that was the state of dope smuggling in the 70s and early 80s in Old Mexico
now it’s nuts....
LSD was legal and limited to weird graduate students; Cocaine, part of the lifestyle of the rich and famous. The poor were on Heroin.
What the '60's did was widen the drug choice for the lower classes, who jumped in with both nostrils and lungs. It's the difference between cool book-reading jazz'n'poetry Beatniks and illiterate, stupid, dirty Hippies, with their daft commercial counter-culture, which has led uis inexorably to the reign of Obamma I.
Ping!))
